I received this with the delivery schedule (NJ) “Please add your VIN to your Insurance policy with an effective date no later than 4 days before your appointment and upload to your Tesla Account.”

why not the insurance effective day be the exact day of delivery?

Likely needed for registration. Just add it early, you can have your agent adjust the start date after the fact.

I’m like 5 days out from delivery for my Y (3 is further out) and didn’t get that message. Tesla texted me today and said car is delayed in transit with 09/01 arrival at Cherry Hill with pickup a day or 2 after.
