Interior Ambient Light

In the Model S's that I've been in, the physical buttons for the map lights (part of the light itself) have always worked, even back to the first beta showed up in the stores.

Since they have yet to fix the buzzing problem with them I have just left them turned off. I guess I can try to get some pictures.

Mine doesn't do it either. From what I can gather you basically just turn your screen brightness down to 50% or so and the ambient lights will buzz.

If you have your night mode screen set to anything less than 50% brightness (I usually keep it at around 25%) the ambient lights will buzz. You can easily test it. Make sure the car is ON (not just in accessory mode - press the brake) and set the screen to 25%. You can then just turn on and off the ambient lights and hear the buzz. Obviously make sure the stereo isn't playing anything. If you then raise the screen to 100% the buzz will disappear.

I just got my model s today and noticed a definite buzzing sound when the ambient lights are on. The buzz goes away the second I turn them off. What do you know about this problem. Is it present in all the cars?

Yes, it is present in all cars and they are aware of the problem. It is actually a very easy fix. They just need to make the ambient lights NOT dim with the screens. Although it might make them a bit too bright for some people it will fix the buzzing problem.

I did a quick video last night so you can see the ambient light. I think the interior lighting is beautifully done and the video does not do justice to it but it was raining and I didn't have much time.

seemed a bit bright, but i know it's adjustable. do you know/remember what % that was set to?

Just tried it. Can't hear it. Neither could my friend. I better stop playing with the car and draining the battery. My charge port door is stuck closed and I can't open it.

I can't hear it in mine, either, and I'm told my ears are pretty good. I can hear flyback transformers several rooms away.
