International Centre delivery experiences

Mine definitely is not smooth one.

Arrived at 11:00 for 11:45 appointment, has been told that mine will be delayed for about an hour. As I have heard that Tesla provide no food, we went out for a Tims lunch. But when we came back, we saw Tesla actually provide people with sandwiches. Ops. We then continue to wait. lots of ppl who behind us got license plate and left with the car. We waited until 4:30PM to get the license plate, the manager was saying MTO delayed our plate. We waited about another hour to get my car ready and all paper work copied..Okay 5:30PM we left International Center with our high-tech car.

We drove through 407 but we did not use Autopilot as we afraid to test it in peak hour..We picked up my older son at his sport place, but on the way back home, we found the AC not working at all (it was working when we picked up, and stop working after a stop over). . Once at home, I called Tesla service. They said according to their log my AC has the problem. Suggest me to go back to the delivery centre, or send it to service tomorrow..

Okay, I left the car and eating the dinner. After I eat the dinner I remote start the AC on the phone app, ops it works again.. My goodness....

I don't want to send my new car to service for sure...

Sorry to hear it wasn't smooth. Once you get it going I'm in Markham as well so I'm sure I'll see you at the mall one day. Autopilot is a godsend for the DVP. I never felt so relaxed driving home as I did today :D

My wife and I picked up our white Model 3 this evening.

5:30 delivery slot. My wife arrived on time, checked in, and was greeted by our delivery specialist, James. I made it just a few minutes late.

James immediately showed us the green plates we would be receiving and asked us if we would like to see our vehicle (note: this was done prior to paperwork, giving us every opportunity to look over the car before signing for it).

As we walked to the car (before the roped off area) a woman overheard us discussing our pickup time and loudly said “I’ve been here since 10 this morning!”, not a good sign.

We got to the vehicle and looked it over. I was stunned - our beautiful new car, blemish free was sitting right there, some 793 days after we decided to put $1000 of our hard earned dollars down despite never seeing nor driving the car.

I’ve owned a 2013 Model S and currently have a X 90D so I’m no stranger to Tesla’s - I appreciate that these cars get better every day after you pick them up, from software, to hardware and everything in between, and that the service centres, as overloaded as they can be, always want to make your vehicle better.

I’ve experienced a whole host of issues as a Tesla driver, especially on my Model S, but upon my very first 5 minutes looking over the car, I could see absolutely nothing wrong with the exterior (and later the interior) aside from a slightly protruding charge cover.

We returned to the general waiting area with James to go over our paperwork (he had been carrying it with him since we first met), sign the documents, provide payment, insurance, etc. We finished up and he took off for a few minutes to make copies.

Upon returning, he notified us that we were all done and could wait for our names to be called by concierge, at which point our vehicle would be waiting outside, ready to be driven home.

15 minutes later, we were in the car after saying goodbye to James and being introduced to another Tesla employee. He answered any questions we had about vehicle functions and I noticed something wrong... the detailer had put the driver side floor mat in the passenger side, and the passenger floor mat in the drivers side. We fixed that, paired our phones, setup a comfortable driving position, and off we went.

Total time from check in to putting the Model 3 in D and my wife driving off while smiling from ear to ear: 1 hour and 15 minutes.

I know that this isn’t close to the normal experience, maybe we got lucky, maybe they are just now hitting their stride, but I wanted to give the team a sincere thank you for a great experience. They were all genuinely nice, helpful, and just happy for us.

Looks like evening appointments are better as the license plate will definitely ready by the time you arrive there.

I just go a call from Tesla guy in California that they cancelled my Sunday appointments. I have all my paperwork done, bank draft ready appointment with paint protection guy for Monday and now who knows when I will get my car. if it wasn't for the uncertainty with the Ontario rebate i would take my sweet time and let them wait. Is there anybody else with this same situation?

What? That’s disappointing. Did they give you a reason?

Is it because MTO offices are closed and can't get license plates?

Being there about 5hours waiting for nothing , by talking to different ppl with different situations. Here is what could happen:

1. The car has not arrived Toronto. Ppl will be contacted to make another appointment. If ppl arrive the international center, they will then Uber you home.

2. The car has some issues while detailing. Ppl could wait on site, or more complex issue they have to book you another appointment (Same , if you on site they will Uber you home).

3. License plate not issued on time, ppl need endlessly wait for the license plate. If ppl has other engagements and could not wait, they will Uber you home and let you come next day.

Seems like things are running more smoothly today, 11am appointment already seen the vehicle and done the papwerwork, just waiting on them bringing it round. Plates were onsite already. They said people are turning up late today because of the forums, a 10:30 appointment hadn't yet shown up and they would have been done already if they did it seems. Awesome to see all the 3's!!!

Just got back home with my new model 3.

Got to the international centre at 845 for my 9am appointment. Didn't wait for long before someone came to get us to see the car and sign the paper work. They had the plates in hand while they came to get us.

Waited a bit more before they came to get us to inspect the vehicle. They told us we could inspect it as long as we needed before we drove out and that they had people there on site to fix problems.

Total time to getting the key cars was around 1 hour. Everyone was really friendly. Great overall experience.

That's more like it. Here in Denver when I picked up my car last month, total time was 47 min including trade and walkthrough. Glad that they seem to be getting the kinks worked out up north.

While I liked my small, personal pick-up experience, I think it'd be neat to be part of 180/day, too. That's got to be a trip.

I got the same call Friday night. They left a message. Told me that the delivery hub would be closed Sunday. They said I could possibly get delivery on Monday. Then a lady from the International Centre called me this morning. She said there was a problem with the delivery truck. Said my car isn’t even at the International Centre yet. She scheduled me for Friday but I’m going to reconnect with her Monday and maybe I can get an earlier date. I was really looking forward to starting the week in my new car.

Damn you’re lucky. I was told today that my delivery tomorrow morning is pushed to Friday because my car hasn’t even arrived at the International Centre yet. :(

Yikes! That's quite an unfortunate event. I hope they are able to do something better for you.
