Is it my imagination, or is the dash MX turning now?

Just the other day, I made a sharp turn and I happened to glance at the dash. The Model X avatar was sitting at about a 20 degree angle from vertical. Then I started noticing that even making soft turns showed up on the dash.

Was it always like this or is this a new "feature"?

(If it is a new feature, I would have preferred that they make the search feature in the onboard user's manual work properly.)

Out of curiosity, does the MX avatar move when you tilt your phone when driving?

Wasn't always like this, but has been like this for a while now.
