Issue with keyless entry with iPhone 12s and iPhone 12 minis?

Everyone in my family just upgraded to the 12 series and now the phone key intermittently works. It usually starts working again once we open the tesla app and if not the unlock button in the app does always work, but this defeats the point of a keyless entry. Background refresh is on and usually the tesla app is open in the background anyways when it happens. Anyone else have this issue?

I’ve noticed more lapses in connection since getting the 12. I notice it most when I’ve already driven the car, stepped out to pick up food or run into a store, then can’t get back into the car until I put bags down and pull out my phone, unlock it, and the connection to the car returns.

Same here. ive noticed it after ive opened the Tesla app to turn on the heat or do anything related to the vehicle. Once I go to the car, it wont register and the door wont open.

Bluetooth was flaky for me on iOS 14.2 w/a 12mini

It seems to have gotten better with 14.2.1 so you may want to check your SW version.

Would explain why Ive been having issues getting notifications on my apple watch as well.

Apple sent a iPhone 12 update last night to my phone. Had something to do with messaging and other bug fixes.

Yeah its really annoying. Am also asking someone I know with a pro max to see if he has this issue too. Wonder if its the Tesla app or apple's end.

For those having issues, do you leave the Tesla App open in the background, or are you force closing it after each use? I leave it open in the background and would say I am more than 99% successful on iPhone 12 Pro. Hope it resolves soon.

I never force close mine. Its always open in the background.

Like clockwork, if I open the tesla app for any reason and then walk out to the car it will not recognize it. No idea why

I've been using a 12 Pro for a month, still on 14.1, not a single issue with it working with my car.

I've had my share of having to putz with the Tesla app to get my car to unlock in the past, but haven't run into that in a while, presumably from Tesla's updates.

No problem here. Ive had more problems with a Huawei phone, which is known to have very aggressive battery saving software. But I also havent used the iPhone 12 long enough to make a fair comparison.

My iPhone 12 Pro Max seems to working fine...now there are some spots out here in the country where the M3 is not getting a signal and I have to move the car 100 meters so I can use the Tesla app in my house. Other than that, the 12 Pro Max is as reliable as the Xs Max it replaced.

I have a 12 Pro Max and I’m on iOS 14.2.1 but still have problems (twice today while I’m out going to appointments). I have the app open in the background. Maybe it’s a Tesla update that’s needed.

My 12 Pro was connected and then disconnected twice last week. Since then it's been good. Only update was for the car. See how long until it happens again, if it does

they are aware of the notifications issues, as usual no one accepts blame and they don't know when it will be fixed.

I have been having the same problems since I got the 12 Mx. sometimes door doesn’t open but also sometimes I get in and hit the brake and it asks for the card key so the phone isn’t connecting right away as well. It’s intermittent but enough to be annoying.
