Both my and my wife's Galaxy S10+ have worked 100% of the time. We are on Android 10.

I'm not sure exactly the problem you are having, but I find if I have any issue opening, that i just wake the phone and it'll instantly connect and open doors.
Other choice is to buy the tesla key FOB.

Another, buy a ring with the key inside it and it makes for easy open and close.

Google Pixel 3a. Works nearly every time. In previous threads like this, the 3a was one of the better ones it seemed.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Almost never works due to aggressive power saving. Again, like previous threads, this seemed consistent with others as well.

Power saving features are almost always the culprit. If you have the ability to change these for your phone, let the Tesla app operate in the background at all times. This fixes the Huawei for example.

Same obeservation, a few S10 and S20 era phones across the family, previously Android 9, now 10/10.x, Tesla app as key and app features work everytime.
