If you look at this data, it’s possible you went up against a Civic Type-R which has pretty similar 0-60 times as the LR RWD.

beat a civic in what context? 0-60? 1/4 mile? a highly modified civic can beat anything. otherwise, the only stock civic that i can see "beating" a MR 3 is a type R. The MR is not a speed demon but it's still a very fast car capable of hitting 0-60 in mid to low 5 seconds.

My mid range feels plenty fast... and I had a MKV GTI manual transmission previous.... check chill mode.

I don’t know what you were up against but my LeMR is smoking most everything I come across. Is it a P? No but I actually feel safer and have already avoided a couple potential accidents with the acceleration. I think it’s a great compromise on price and performance but I’m biased.

Civic type R is no joke. Just as fast as a Model 3 LR from a roll. Could have been modified too.

Also if you're reacting to a launch no chance. You lose at least a second or two unless you both hit it at the same time. If both cars are close in speed you cannot be .5 or 1 second behind hitting the pedal.
