M3P- . What is it, how to order it, etc.

Should I potentially be able to locate an inventory LR AWD car that meets my wheel and color choices*, order it and have it stealthified for 2K?

*Midnight Silver/Black/20's like this one:

2019 Model 3 | Tesla

You will not be able to do that, i asked yesterday.
The car will have to be ordered with the 18 inch wheel package. There is no option for a different wheel option

From all indications, this is only certain cars that were built for this purpose. At least that’s what my sales advisor told me, that these were a limited run in small numbers and would not be available for a long.
My guess is that is what advisors are telling people. However I know this not to be the case as my friend ordered one yesterday and just magically there was one already at the store waiting for him in his exact color etc. All they are doing it putting on a red underline badge and doing over the air updates to current LR AWD inventory.

I don't see the M3P- option any more online - there blurb where they say 18" wheels are available. Was that a one time deal to clear existing inventory that's now gone?
Still shows a pic of the wheels, but is greyed out. My guess is they are updating to site to make a menu item.
It is still avail for purchase i just confirmed

damn, 15k option is now only 2k. do it!
Hell, just give all the awds the software. A software lock is only reasonable if the price is pretty constant but at 2k they might as well just give that option to everyone. I knew i was getting screwed on the software unlock but the consensus was that Tesla would never do what they just did. I think they should offer it to all awd now.

Has anyone (other than me) with a late build (~6/19) LR AWD tried, via the Tesla app, scheduling a "software update" and putting in the note field a desire to add the performance update? I just did that and it allowed me to schedule a mobile appointment. I also sent a text msg to the person that delivered my LR AWD. I'm sure it just won't happen, but I do expect to get a call at some point. At that point, I will ask many questions... :D

Actual Appointment confirmation

"Hi John,

Your Mobile Service appointment for VIN 5YJ3E1EB9KF39xxxx is confirmed for July 26, 2019.

Your technician is scheduled to arrive between 12:30:00 PM and 2:30:00 PM. The technician will contact you before arrival and will wait for up to 15 minutes before moving onto their next scheduled appointment.

Service Address:
<Redacted>

To modify, reschedule or cancel your appointment use your Tesla Mobile app. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate modifications made 72 hours prior to your appointment.

If you have any questions, visit our Support Pages.

Note: The day of your appointment you may see an update pending for your vehicle. Please do not install that update. This update has been sent by the Service Team and will be used to complete repairs on your Tesla. If you install the update before your appointment, we will have to resend the update to your car which will increase your appointment time depending on connectivity.

Best regards,
The Tesla Team "

I got my first "reply" - This one from my SC delivery specialist.....

"Hi John, I unfortunately don’t have an answer on this right now, but I don’t believe that is something we are able to do. I believe the “sleeper” Performance Model 3s we are offering have an upgraded drive inverter from the normal AWD which we are not able to retrofit. I will definitely let you know if I hear something different!"

Of course, I pointed him to this forum and told him I would make it worth his while if he could "find away"!

And now I just received a reply to my reply. They are getting better and more promising.

“I haven’t heard anything to that end, though I do know that we’ve gotten some cars that are the non-upgrade package performance cars which are essentially AWD with a performance badge and quicker 0-60. I’ll let you know if I find out it’s an available upgrade!”
