Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and new to Tesla ownership. I've had my Blue/White Standard Plus M3 for almost a month. I thought I would share my initial upgrades with other new owners.

Of course, being the SP model, I needed floor mats. (Quick tip: A passenger wearing high heels can chew up the black floor carpet - so wear flats unit you get mats.)

These mats were my first mats: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KYXCD23/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Two problems, 1) The rear mat wasn't a perfect fit and most problematic 2) the top of the front passenger mat drooped down. I returned them and got these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MGXB2G4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I love these mats! No smell, great fit, firm enough to stay in place, good look.

Next, I tinted the windows at Apex Customs in Tempe Arizona ( https://www.apexcustoms.com/ ). These guys are great! They suggested I go 20% all around because of my white interior and they were right on. They are one of the few shops in my area that does the entire back window with one piece of tint. Top notch. (See pic at local charging station.)

Then I got this wireless dual charging dock: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R7Q9N1H/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Great purchase - no problems, fits perfect, functions as advertised. (See pic)

I followed the various instructions on the internet to partition a usb thumb drive and I got the dash cam / sentry mode working with 3,000+ mp3 songs too. (When playing music from the usb drive, I occasionally get some skipping, or more technically, the song continues but no sound is emitted. Still haven't figured that one out.)

Next, I got this center console organizer: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NY36FG5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . Great purchase. I also got these rubber liners for the console and cup holders: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN6X5QS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . They fit perfectly and I got the white trim, which goes well with the white seats.

I got the TOPlight mesh sunshade: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q4RJWVR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . It fits well... but if you are OCD, like me, mine has a little wrinkle in it because it is a little too big for the space. It's barely noticeable and doesn't impact function at all.

I got these Oznium ultrabright led replacement bulbs for the 4 door puddle lights and the trunk lights. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079C6T6HJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I think they help. I have wondered if they draw much more energy from batteries, but I can't imagine its anything significant. (There's probably a thread on this topic where someone did the math.)

I went back to Apex Customs and had them do a matte black wrap of the center console and the dash. I was finding that the silver dash piece was catching a lot of light and was noticeable in the side window when I looked out the side mirror. Again, they did a great job and I like the look. (See pic.) I wish I would have gone with the brushed titanium instead of matte black, but still a great look.

I installed this GarageMate Bluetooth adapter to my garage door so I can open my garage with my phone... no keys or garage door openers to worry about - just need Tesla and phone. Works like a charm. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCV1QZF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .

I got these lifting jack pucks off etsy and threw them in the trunk... just in case. 4 pack - Lifting jack pucks for Tesla model 3, S, X with mesh storage bag

I made some other minor cosmetic upgrades:

One of the most interesting projects was a usb-powered bluetooth led light strip installed to both footwells with a manual switch in the center console. Of course, the Standard Plus doesn't come with *software enabled* footwell lights... so I got creative. If there is interest, I'll do a separate post on that project.

The above simple modifications have been fun to do, have improved function, and have personalized the car to my liking. They didn't cost a lot either. Overall, a good start to M3 ownership. Love this car!
