What do you guys think insurance will be for the Model 3? Can anyone share what they are paying for a Model S or X in California?

USAA also has online quote available. Mine came to around $80-120 monthly depending on coverage options in NJ

Does anyone get gap insurance? GEICO seems to give a pretty good quote, about $100 a month, but they don't offer gap insurance.

My Model S P85DL USAA policy costs no more proportionally than my Prius policy, so I don't see why the Model 3 should carry a big premium. This is especially true because much of the 3's bodywork is steel, not aluminum.

Talked to my State Farm agent today and they estimated based on the price of the car. Wasn't much different...

Very happy with progressive's quote. Not much more than I pay now, and I'm not even carrying collision or comprehensive on my old car.

Same here in Oregon. It quoted it as a 3rd card though

My USAA premium increased by $300 for the 6-month policy. The Tesla will replace a Ford Fusion Energi.

Wow. I'll be paying double that. NJ sucks for insurance.

How do you know that? People at the delivery event took magnets to the car and said the bodywork is all aluminum. So if there is steel it is in the frame not the body. (Which is probably how they got it so light.)
