Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Daily Countdown: 24 hours 🤩. If (and that’s a big IF), all goes according to plan, this time tomorrow I’ll be taking delivery of my M3LR. I definitely did not think it was going to take this long. The main thing that keeps me sane is playing the role of understanding husband. My wife ordered a Lincoln Corsair GT (PHEV) in November of last year and still doesn’t have a clue when it will be built. Lincoln’s standard response is “We’re sorry, but we don’t have any information other than it’s schedule for production” which she has been hearing for months.
Hoping for the best on my M3! 🤞🤞🤞

Don't crucify me if not, but are the new deliveries coming with anything new or different in/on them? It's been a while since something has been added/taken away is why I ask (minus the Matrix light debacle).

Also I read someone said in a way previous post that the wait time post vin is worse than the wait time for the vin. I feel that. It feels like my delivery et date hasnt changed in three years and that its going to be another 4 years for it to arrive, even though its at longest (per the ED) next Saturday the 25th.

OD: May 2022

EDD: Oct - Dec 2022

New EDD: Sep - Oct 2022 (changed almost 2 weeks ago)

Ordered a M3LR, White, black interior, 18' Aero, no FSD

I'm just hoping that delivery window closes more and doesn't extend.
Folks in CA get their ordered fulfilled by the end of the quarter. So, you should expect by end of September. I ordered mine in March and haven't received yet while those on the East Coast have received theirs. The EDD will fluctuate, sometimes wildly. At times it is madness to look at EDDs as they can be frustrating. But be patient.

Nope. No reports of anything added, and even if there was, the Shanghai cars typically get it before Fremont indicating nothing is on the immediate horizon. Also no reports of anything missing. Even on the headlights, it seems the majority of the latest deliveries are matrix again.

To all the new members to this thread, welcome!!
To shed some light onto your waits: For those with OD's in March/April, that is when the massive ordering surge happened (due to gas prices). Outside of a few exceptions, you should expect to wait around 100 days for your car. This can fluctuate on a number of factors such as options, your location, cancellations, etc.
Bugging an SA will NOT get your car here sooner. Having 6 or 7 EDD's is pretty normal. Having 14 EDD's (like I did) is not.
No, the trade-in text doesn't mean a VIN is imminent.
No, there isn't a "pattern" of EDD's of 5 weeks, then 4 weeks, then 2 weeks, then 10 days. People have EDD's all over the place.
We're here to help you through this process. You're not alone. We've been there.
PS: Tesla's air conditioning suuuuuucks in very hot weather.

Any information that you provide will help avoid people repeatedly asking for it (and the answer immediately getting lost in the flow of posts here). We tend to use the available information to try to spot trends, to set expectations for newer arrivals - and to commiserate with the folks who have been waiting the longest.

Wiki - Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

Common terms

SA = Service Advisor. This is your contact with Tesla until you've taken delivery of your vehicle.
EDD = Estimated Delivery Date. It is important to understand that this is only an approximation, not a exact prediction.
FSD = Full Self Driving. This is an optional feature of the vehicle.
VIN = Vehicle Identification Number. This is a unique identification number found on all Tesla vehicles.

Ordering FAQ

1. You have an SA, even if you ordered online. Just reply to the text you got when you ordered (Welcome to the Tesla family....).
2. SAs exist to help with the order and delivery process. They won't tell you anything more than you can learn from the Tesla app.
3. Your first EDD is likely the most accurate. Frequent updates or a lack of updates are no indication of progress on your order.
4. If you make it into an EDD without a VIN, you'll get a new EDD on the second day of the current EDD.
5. EDDs occasionally jump out by months. These are glitches that usually correct within a week.
6. VINs can come at any time. EDDs are refreshed twice a day (but yours may not change for long periods of time).
7. A text asking about a trade-in of your current vehicle is not indicative of progress on your order.
8. Expect to wait 100+ days for your car. There was a huge surge in order volume starting in March due to gas prices.
9. East coast deliveries happen in the first two months of a quarter. West coast happens in the last month of the quarter.
10. Occasionally, vehicles are delivered much earlier than expected because another person cancelled their order or refused the vehicle.
11. Orders with FSD do not currently receive priority.
12. There are two headlight types; premium and matrix. There is currently no guarantee as to which will be installed on any given vehicle.
13. Ryzen chips, double pane front glass, and lithium ion 12V batteries are standard on all vehicles.
