I received this message on 12/1 and received a VIN on 12/21 before I placed my hold. Before receiving the VIN, I received a text saying welcome to the Tesla family in 10-14 days, which was received on 12/18.

Well that's frustrating I got that message on 12/9 even though I'm not trading in a car and still don't have a vin. I thought it was a generic message that didn't imply a VIN was on its way guess for some people its a good omen.
I was playing around with different combos on the website and interesting for short range if you switch it msm with the aero it bumps date from June to October. Really not sure why that would be.

Both free colors for Rear-Wheel Drive Model 3 with aero wheels are October 2022. Probably for two reasons, Hertz and lower profit on each vehicle.

I received the same message last week. This week my EDD got pushed back from 1/5 to 2/2 to 1/17 to 2/20.
We're on the same boat! I am in Los Angeles, same model, OD 8/30 but I guess only counts starting 11/29 when I actually put in financial info. Got pushed from October to December to January and now 1/20 to 2/17.
Looks like it’s just a wait and see game then

Doesn’t the battery update only apply to RWD? I agree the chip will be worth the wait.

I switched from performance to LR with no fee, my EDD was pushed out about a month. As a matter of fact I ordered the exact same car you currently have on order.

The 12V Li-Ion battery update is available for AWD as well.
Apologize for the confusion. I was referring to the 12V Li-Ion battery, not the actual battery pack.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I’m keeping fingers crossed that maybe they will update again soon with sooner EDDs for us both.
