My SA just called. So here is what is going on. They have started shipping cars WITHOUT vin numbers to the destination locations. They are doing this because there are about 10,000 cars that are requiring a firmware update. So to avoid shipping delays they are pushing the cars out now. In my case our cars are here in orlando however they can not release them until they are able to do the firmware update. Once the firmware is pushed the VINS will automatically be assigned and we will have three days to pick up the vehicle. If we are unable to pick up the vehicle at that time we will have to wait for the next batch. He said batches are being released every week throughout June.
I asked what the forewarn update was for and he said Tesla has not told them for confidentiality but his guess is it’s a safety update otherwise they would release them and do the update later. He also said it normally is not this rushed but due to the demand and this firmware issue things are a little out of wack right now and asked for us to be a little more patient. Fingers crossed we should be seeing cars rollout soon!

3 days from notification or the usual 3 day window they provide? I know people( like myself) are waiting for VIN assignment before changing to financing. If I get called lets say tomorrow and I have until Tuesday to pick up the car, might be tight.

I ordered from Orlando. May I ask when you ordered so I know when to get my life together? I ordered on April 25th and will need to get financing together.

We ordered them on April 17th so you should be hearing soon. He said they received 100 vehicles in the Orlando area.

Ya, he said this is definitely not how the normal process works and usually VINs are assigned before shipping. This might only be the case for a select few vehicles.

My trade-in offer expired a couple days ago. I got the email, updated my odometer reading, and got my same offer within 24 hours. Very easy. Now had the offer changed, I would've had words, but the offer came back the same so we're good and back to *patiently* waiting.

I'm guessing it's an issue with the crap website they have but has anyone had this happen. I went to my Tesla account to see if anything has changed with my delivery date and I only see Tesla shop, and the buy a Tesla from a third party. It doesn't show my Tesla manage option.

yea just click on the "Tesla Account" at the top right and it will pop up with your order. The website is acting nuts so I haven't been able to get into it any further than showing my orders though it did the same thing last night.

That's the thing my order isn't showing up anymore, I'm guessing it's just the bad website. I haven't had any issues checking the status of my M3 before.

thats what it does just click the top right "Tesla Account" you may need to sign back in it should pop up but with the site down you wont be able to check anything once you get it to show your order and order number.

This is why it's weird, normally the Tesla shows up above the Tesla shop option but it's completely gone, I've logged out a few times to see but it never came back. I ordered back 4/22 so I know how to check my delivery estimate and all that but the option to do that is completely gone for me now for some odd reason
