Phone call from Tesla “calling to confirm your delivery tomorrow afternoon.” Me: “It’s supposed to be 8-12 in the morning; I already rearranged meetings.” Tesla: “Oh, the time is just a placeholder.” Even with a DD, Tesla makes overly optimistic projections it can’t possibly meet, and then prevaricates about the reason.

Tell them your agreement to take delivery tomorrow is also a placeholder. You have now changed it to September 31st. XD
Tesla would just say "thats fine, we will sell that car to someone else and put you back in the queue. Hopefully we can get you a vehicle by Dec 31st".
I would be OK if they delay till December. By then I will get a "2022" model year car

Delivery today! The exterior has 2 minor issues, the trunk is slightly off near the glass roof and small scratches on the black trim on the passenger doors. The interior has a large gap above the glovebox. Still accepted delivery. Scheduled service and will go from there.

also i did a long quality check on it to make sure everything was in good quality the two agents that came lowkey seemed pissed

Congrats! I'm over here VINless still. Looks like all the MSM orders are getting the same treatment over in the LR section as here. Seems like they are putting us on the backburner for some reason.
Hello! I live in Los Angeles, CA and ordered M3LR, Black on Black, 8/11 with an original EDD in early December. A few days later the EDD had been pushed back to Jan-Feb. 2022. The following week my EDD moved up to 9/15 - 9/25. A few days later, pushed back to 9/20 - 9/30. Last week I received a text from Tesla stating my M3 was nearly done with production and requested I confirm if I would be able to accept delivery in September. After replying “YES”, my Tesla account was updated to the “Prepare for Delivery” phase and I was prompted to resubmit my current vehicles mileage for an updated trade-in offer. Within 36 hours I received a new trade-in offer and finally received my VIN!! My scheduled delivery is tomorrow, 9/26 from 10AM - 2PM. It’ll be a total of 46 days from order to delivery. For those of you on-edge and anxious about prolonged delivery dates, stay positive. I went from a six month waiting period to a month and a half. I’ll follow up tomorrow to confirm I actually received my delivery. Stay tuned.
