Anyone in Orange County want to trade my Micro USB cable for your Lightning cable? I have a need to charge two iPhones over the need to charge an iPhone and Android device.

Sorry if this is hijacking this thread, but what about putting a wireless charger somewhere. Maybe like behind that mat?

An acquaintance from work steered me to this - I don't have the car yet (Friday) and the part comes next week.. he claims it works.

I'm told it uses a standard micro usb cable ... I can report back once the whole experiment is complete.

We took delivery of our Model 3 tonight and it has an iPhone Lightning charge cable and a micro USB charger cable installed.

This sounds like a perfect pre-delivery question: what kind of cables do you want?

Our house is iPhone so I've got a usb cable to swap, ping me

I will probably get one. The Tesla cables are nice, but this is what they should have done.

It took the part longer to arrive than I thought so I got the second lightening cable. I have it inside the house at the moment, inside an old iphone 5 case I'm scheming on how to put it in the car.. it does work though

I'm starting to wonder if i'm qualified to own this car, because i really can't figure out how to swap the cables out. I understand how they unplug on the non-phone end and then the cables are under the rubber mat, but how do you get the actual phone connector portion out? I'm super scared to break anything

I had the same issue until I watched the video. You need to slide the lower portion to the left to unsnap it which I didn't realize initially.

Works with a THIN case...mine with credit cards and stuff on the back, not so much.

So aside from swapping, anyone know of working aftermarket ones I can get from Amazon? I want to get another lightning cable, and wouldn't even mind getting them from Tesla, but their online store is extremely slow lately. I know it's a 90 degree cable, but different adapters have slighly different shapes so I want to make sure it will sit in the TM3 mold and will work fine.

I wish they would start making these things work better with cases. Should be able to adjust the depth. If I don't have a case, I'm going to break my screen weekly.

Looks like most people need a lightning cable, here's a suggestion:

For Apple Lightning To Micro USB Adapter

$3 instead of the $14 for Tesla's cable on their website AND it extends the length of the cable so you don't need to remove the case on your iPhone.
