I reckon I spent a quarter of that spread over 4 years for the model S. Specifically cabin filter, 2 sets of wiper blades, brake fluid check. Tyres still original and going strong, plus I have a spare set purchased from tesla referral credits.

No idea. I have done all I can and still managed to spend $470 over 4 years.
 
The only maintenance I plan to do is crossing my fingers. "The best service is no service" is what Elon said, and I wholeheartedly agree.
Musk also said "the best part is no part". Design ideals arent requirements they are principles to guide effective real world design. Good engineering isnt about reading astrology books with crossed fingers its about reading stuff like tribology.

“Hope is not a plan.” In the US Tesla recommends service every two years to check fluid levels & condition; inspect brakes and suspension; service cabin air filter.

Forgoing suggested maintenance impairs reliability and longevity. It might possibly bar a warranty claim - imagine drive unit damage from low or degraded lubricant or battery damage from insufficient coolant.
 
I’m generally at the SC every 6 months or so for warranty work, so the car is regularly checked over.

Exactly, never paid a service charge due to warranty issues every 6 months or so...exactly what we have found...even have managed to get wheel alignments done free as Tesla had to do this that or the other on the suspension.

This is our experience with owning a Model S, 3 and X....honestly don't know if not paying for a serice is a good or bad thing given the reason we're not paying for a service :rolleyes:
