i'm working temporarily in germany but will be coming home for the holidays. this is a California order placed 10/17 with now a delivery appointment of 12/7 in fremont.

imagine coordinating buying this car from germany, where i dont have my US sim on me so if they tried to contact me that way i wouldn't receive it. it's been hell

Man, why would you want to come back to CA? LOL...man, I'd find a reason to stay there and get myself a BMW M3 or M2 and be bombing the Nurburgring every chance I'd get hahah

Looks like CA cars are finally rolling into delivery sites. I ordered 10/24 AWD blue/black 19" wheels and had still not had a VIN in source or any reliable info or communication as of Sat Nov 30, despite inquiries about upgrading to Stealth Performance to potentially speed up the process. To my amazement I was able to be 'hard matched' to a Stealth with same colors/wheels when I stopped in to inquire in person. The VIN showed up in source a few hours thereafter, and I received an SMS the next day for delivery in SF for Dec 4. I took delivery on the car yesterday and I have to say: the delivery process was flawless, the delivery advisor and all personnel I encountered were top-notch, the car appears flawless (thus far) in terms of fit and finish and mechanics, and the vehicle experience itself brings to mind that feeling and phrase from the Apple heydays: INSANELY GREAT. So I hope this brings hope to all of you compatriots, since the vehicles are arriving (and the posts about Stealth Performance vehicles turning up unexpectedly appear to be accurate), the delivery experience itself can be seamless, and the car is unquestionably worth waiting for. So all those waiting in CA: keep the faith - things are HAPPENING.

JUST GOT A VIN NUMBER IN SOURCE!! My SA also contacted and told me before I checked my account and source code. I checked my account and its just asking me to put my final payment and we are in the home stretch! My SA said since I have the vin, my car is due to made very soon.

Hopefully the process from here on out is quick and swift!

Ordered SR+ 10/15 White ext/ Black int picking up Marina Del Rey. No Delivery date yet but at least the VIN is there.

Starting to feel frustrated.

Ordered on 10/14. For delivery at Buena Park. SR+ White with black interior. AP and Aero wheels.

Not a word from anyone.

hang in there. based on the patterns we are seeing you are due for a vin very soon. i'm also at buena park but with LR FSD. i talked to a delivery specialist from there and claims they are expecting trucks every week from now until the end of the year. so hope ours will be on there.

I try to be optimistic and spread good vibes but I just got the following email from someone in Tesla.

I am reaching out to let you know that due to Tesla starting full production in the United States now we should see a VIN in 1-2 weeks. Then another 1-2 weeks estimated time frame to get your vehicle.

I ordered in October. I’m hoping this was a schedule email that got stuck but if this is true, this is not good for me. Has anyone else got this email? It’s from a delivery support specialist in Las Vegas. But I ordered and live in California.

it has my order number in the subject line so I’m really hoping it’s just a very delayed email

FWIW, all those waiting should see relief very soon.

We went to a new owners event at the Fremont Delivery Center (Tesla's largest delivery center, 1.5 miles from factory) yesterday. The guy there said production of the 3 line was like a fire hose. And that hose was pointed mostly at Europe and Asia so far this quarter. But the hose was pointing at the Americas the remainder of the quarter. So people can expect just a few days heads up to pickup their cars. They expect the time for a pickup to be 15 minute or less.

FWIW, there were over 200 people at this event. They had stacks of things like HPWC, swag, and other stuff you could buy. Plus they had M3,S,and Xs available for playing around in. I have never heard so many squeaking tires as people player cart racing games in the cars. They even did demos of summons indoors.

We spent much of our time waiting in line to get our order checked by a specialist. He found we needed to have our insurance information for the lease. Luckily we had that with us and they updated the order with information.

Did your online profile show that insurance was done already, but it didn't show on their end? Just trying to see if it would be worth calling up to make sure they actually have everything my profile has.

I did not even see a spot to put the insurance information when we ordered the car. This is our second Tesla lease and I do not see anywhere in my account there it shows the insurance company. Yesterday they upload an image of our current insurance card.
