Model S Battery Replacement

Live in Miami, FL. Currently colder than usual, but no need for mittens, hats and scarves yet.
Just joining this late, but if you're real world range is as gross as suggested, there must be something wrong.

Recommend some of the battery apps out there for an "inside" look at your stats. If bad, show them to your local SC and see what they do for you. Blow you off? Try a different SC.

Also, in case you need this for later (and this could be a step that saves you some $22k to $25k!), keep highly detailed daily logs of what you're seeing, such as "Dec xx: Charged to indicated range of XXX night prior. Drove xx miles and range then showed xx miles. Temp xxF, no elevation change, light traffic, freeway driving at avg speed of xx, Trip Meter showed xxx wHr/mile." Etc. This might be a perfect "Get out of jail free" card for later . . . .

If after all this, the SC still blows you off, AND you have some warranty left (months or miles), then consider a plan to hasten its demise:

A. Supercharge to 100% as often as possible, then let it set as long as you can.

B. Charge at home to 100% every time you can, then let it sit at 100% for as long as possible.

C. When using your car, feel free to drag the battery down as low as you can, say to single-digit range estimates (but have your Uber or Lyft app ready in case it dies early:).

All of these should help get that HV battery into the "Needs replacement" category before your warranty expires, but even if not, BE SURE TO FILE AN APP SERVICE REQUEST at least two weeks before your battery warranty expiration. Then, if they again find nothing wrong, it should be sufficient to get you "Goodwill repair" covered so as to hopefully get it replaced under warranty for issues noted while you were still under warranty.

It's all about the documentation . . . .

Again, having good docs to show that you reported a string of issues WHILE UNDER WARRANTY may be enough to get you a warranty replacement, even though you may have already exceeded that date or mileage limit.

Please keep us posted on how it all works out!
