Question for SSD420.I noticed that you traded in you 90D for a P100D and that you have taken delivery.I am curious what type of deal you recieved and how you are enjoying the new X over the previous X.I ordered my 90D just before the 100D was available.I had a chance to change the order but did not want to give up the perforated/ventilated seats.I hope that I did not make a mistake.I also had to forfeit my $2500 and the bump-up was quite expensive for the few additional miles.Your comments would be greatly appreciated.(My son took delivery last week in Vancouver.B.C.The car arrived in 2 1/2 month's from ordering.I am away until next month so I have not driven it.He drove it home (about 40 miles)and he said that it was totally awesome.

Based off @VABarb I created a new checklist that reflects some HVAC and seat cooling/warming things. I hope this link works.

2017 March Model X Delivery Checklist

If there are modifications that you think I should add, let me know.

Thanks for the checklist.

Just want to clarify few items if u guys can help as i am going to pickup my car on Sunday.

Basic - Temp Tags....................What is this item?
Basic - Key Fob .................Do they provide holder and chain by default?
Basic - Printed Manual.............Any idea if they really provide as this will keep updating i guess?
Basic - Mobile Connect and UMC Cable...........What is this, would they provide only all these types?

Interior - Seats 2nd Row ............check both sides of each 2nd row seat for loose trim.........Please explain what this means?

Thanks.

Temporary tags = temporary license plate or vehicle tags for registration depending on your state/province (we don't have these where I live)

I've seen most New deliveries come with a swag kit including two of the new key-thong style Fob covers. Looks like a thick black rubber band that goes around the fob length-wise.

No printed manual - available on-screen in the vehicle or via myTesla online.

Charger / UMC - just make sure they gave you the charger kit - it's comes with a few adapters for various plug types. It won't be compatible with every type of charger of course - some third party adapters will be needed (like Chedamo - sp?) if you choose to charge at these chargers.

Sides of the seats have plastic trim - just check to ensure they are all on correctly and aren't wiggling around (loose).

Few random observations from my pickup....

None of the USB ports worked so I'd suggest checking them. Apparently its a known issue that the plug for them doesn't get seated well behind the 17" screen and they don't work. It's not an easy fix. Requires some open heart to get behind the screen.

Seat belt strap on one of the rear captain's chairs had a twist in it. My OCD can't deal with it. I pulled it all the way out then put a twist in it (to fix the twist from factory) then let it recoil as a temp fix. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened.

The panel covering the subwoofer rattles like all hell when the bass drops. I shoved a towel in between the parcel shelf (or whatever it's called) and the side panel to keep it from rattling. Makes it sound like the speaker is blown without it. With the towel in place the bass is solid.

I'm keeping a list as there were a couple of cosmetic issues when I took delivery that I am awaiting parts for. Once everything is in I am going to have them do all of it at once. Service is aware of these issues and states they will remedy them. My car was an inventory car in case you were wondering.

I baked my own version from the Google Doc file, added much stuff to it and some pictures (some technical terms are less understandable for non native english speakers). I made this for my delivery in about 10 days.
Elon said it is the most complex car ever made. So I guess a bit of detailled inspection can't hurt. It's great to read that they will fix all issues.

We also know the build quality improved a lot over time, so I don't expect too much problems, but I prefer to be able to verify the past possible problems right away - better to avoid surprises that way.

I have been looking soo much at this forum that it's a better idea that the DS explains everything to my wife anyway, while I perform all the checks (71 now).

I attached it in PDF. The MS Word version is here: TeslaModelXChecklist-march-2017.doc

Just picked up our new X.....left and turned right back because A/C wasn't working...ouch....and we'll be taking a trip to Disney in a couple of days too!

It's in one of the list but I skimmed thru it so fast as I didn't think certain items warranted that much detail....moral of the story....go thru that dang list step by step, lol.

Got my Model X, called IOIOIO yesterday (42 in binary, in letters instead of numbers). Had the chance to validate the checklist. There are some possible improvements to make as it's a bit chaotic, going in and out the car, so the sequence of points to check can be improved, also a few almost-duplicates. So I should do some cleanup work.
As I knew most of the stuff about the car already thanks to this forum, I asked the DS to do his explanation to my wife, while I went over the list. It took me about 40 minutes (intensive).

I really liked it, because I would have missed a lot of small things. And of course, Telsa will fix everything. But I would have felt less happy and a bit insecure if I would have discovered certain points only after arriving at home.
I also promised my DS to send him the list so he can use it to perform a check prior to the customers.

I want to thank everyone who contributed in some way to make this happen and improve the overall experience.

So what where the small points I found?

- small chrome problem next to right FWD
- small scratch near footstep left FWD
- seal problem left window
- scratches left door on the inside
- passenger seat wrinkles in the material and white cloth visible in seam
- net under passanger seat loose

I was expecting some issues, so I didn't mind, and they will fix it, so GREAT.

After upgrading to 8.1, and driving a bit, the AP 2.0 got calibrated, and _oh_ the joy of auto steer... the driving experience will never be the same again! It makes driving soo much more enjoyable. Now I understand better why people typically go for a larger battery pack for their second Tesla :)

I'm soooo happy!

Thanks a million for the checklist! Picked up my X on Friday, 3/31, and went through the whole thing line by line carefully. Well made.

My car only showed two problems at delivery, one of which they were able to fix immediately. The other (hood or headlights not perfectly aligned) will be fixed in a service visit soon. A third issue showed its head today, as the sensor that shows whether the right/front door is open or closed appears to be malfunctioning. Shut off the auto-doors function to avoid having the bad sensor trigger the alarm again, and I'll get Tesla to fix it on the same service visit when they fix the hood.

Overall, I'm extremely happy with the car. FWD align and open perfectly, which was my greatest concern, and I had more problems with my early S (and with previous BMW deliveries) than I did this time with my X. Delivery specialists also commented they're seeing a lot fewer problems: still some, and in a few cars enough to really make the customer unhappy, but overall they've reached a pretty decent level of initial quality with the cars now being delivered, and things continue to improve.

That's one of the things I most respect and appreciate about Tesla: they do make mistakes, but they fix each and every one of them, well and thoroughly, and they've never let me down. So of course I'm more tolerant with their errors than I would be with some other brand's.

Update: service team took the X in right away and solved the problem within 2 hours, no refrigerant. We had an appt to get to somewhere else so would've been unhappy about waiting like this, however, Ryan suggested he would drop off the X for me wherever I needed so I could get to my next appt! Awesome customer service!!
