Model Y - PCP Maths

Have a Day 1 order of Model Y and comparing the PCP offered by Tesla against Forza.

So

Tesla ->
Total Price : 57090
Dep : 9143
48 Months inc deposit - 42765.56
GVF : 21123.30

Forza ->
Dep : 6000
48 Months inc deposit - 37075.68
GVF : 27795

Suppose the question here is the GVF better to have more or less, I was looking at doing Forza and keep the saved difference. If the car has sunk really bad , just give it back ?

What’s people thoughts ??

Anybody else switched from Tesla to something else, is is straight forward.

I’m also thinking whether better to keep
It with Tesla so no hassle with payment etc ?? Great to here if anyone has switched or did this before.

Also

2) Tesla final trade in offer was 3k lower than the Tesla estimate trade in with no reasons ?, i have accepted this but thinking once car is ready just take it to wbac or dealer and tell Tesla - no trade in. I suppose they won’t care right if I tell them
On the week of collection ?

Thanks All

I always go for lower GFV up to a limit of what I can afford each month, which the most deposit I can find.

That way there's more equity in the car and more likely you can trade in early.. and when it comes to GFV payment you'll have more in hand for deposit after selling the car (eg. I'm trading up after 2 years, with a healthy deposit after trade in and paying the settlement - subject to Tesla not knocking the numbers down of course.. 3k seems a bit much..).

Thanks Tony, that’s a good point especially regarding if you want to trade up after 2 years. Didn’t think of this scenario.

The trade in was Lexus, no idea what happened here they would not budge. Still even if I go and do estimate now on there website it’s still 3k more 🤣 , might email them again - I’m sure they will just ignore it.

From a trade in perspective Tesla don’t mind. I had an offer “in the bank” off Tesla but the week before collecting sold my car to Arnold Clark. I rang Tesla who just removed the trade in section off the order. No fuss.

Could you tell me the fixed interst rate rate and the representative APR for the Forza deal and also how you get a rate from Tesla?
Thank you very much.

and also how you get a rate from Tesla?
that bit is easy - just configure your vehicle on the web site and open up the finance options at the bottom of the screen:

I switched from Tesla to Forza PCP as I wanted the higher GFV. Meant with less deposit I could have the inductions and white interior and still pay £80pm less that Tesla PCP.

My thought process was that I get to drive the exact spec of car I wanted for 4 years as GFV was future dangrenade’s problem. Didn’t want to drive a car knowing I wanted it to look different.

If I had a more flexible deposit (more money) I would have had my ideal build AND the lower GFV but it was one or the other. Now I have my perfect car and lower monthly payments which for me was a good trade off.

Switching was easy as Tesla reset my payment method to cash and I paid my deposit including trade in and Tesla send an invoice (on request) to Forza for the remainder.

So there are pro’s and con’s for both depending on your financial situation is what I’m saying.

Oh, Forza was also 4.9% APR so no issue there.

It's a bit like asking a 3 year old if they want 1 bar of chocolate today or 2 bars tomorrow.....

I'm less of a road hound these days and although I will be finding reasons to drive through central London and saluting the Congestion Charge signs
as well the ULEZ, on which border I live, I don't think I will need 10,000 miles which is the minimum on the Tesla PCP calculator. On the other hand, I am not sure that there would be much price difference between 6k and 10k miles.

The mileage is only relevant if you are going to hand the car back at the end of the PCP. If you pay off the final amount (there is likely to be equity, especially on a low mileage example) then it doesn't really matter.

Understood. My thoughts were that a lower mileage limit would equate to lower repayments payments. Anyway, I have this minute pressed the button for a 3 year Tesla PCP deal. Now to start a list of required accessories. First stop must be a wall charger.
I fear the need of a new consumer unit to achieve the required spare slot. Any charger recommendations and SW London installers please.

Jacking pucks are essential. Also with no garage and lots of sticky sappy trees I feel a Tesla Car Cover coming on. I bought a cover for the X3 but it is still in the box. However, Tes's skin might be a bit thinner than Brunhilder's buffed Beyerischer Body.

I have a spare wheel and jack in the X3 which was acquired following great inconvenienced not inconsiderable expense with the damned run flat tyres en Provence.

Any charger recommendations

Check your main fuse. If you have less than 100AMP you are likely to want that increasing, and I expect there could be a significant lead-time for that job (it may well be free).

Consider where you will park the car (charge port is passenger-rear) and how far that is from your consumer unit. Maybe have a commando socket fitted at the same time ... and an outdoor 13AMP for pressure washer / car hoover if you haven't got one already.

Never been to a garage or had work done on any of our Teslas where they were used. Dunno if Tesla themselves use them. I've only ever seen garage mechanics stick a trolley jack under the car and pump it up ... they do know where to stick them though :) ... and I do ask if they do know ...

Carrying a spare wheel is considerable weight (which might translate to Range). I take a spare wheel when I go to the Alps (at that time I would have Winter-feet fitted, so I take a spare Summer wheel). IME it can take a day or two to get a suitable spare tyre, so if you can get home (aerosol can of gunge in the car, or AA-Relay) and then fit the spare wheel, that might be useful. Or have separate Summer / Winter feet (if you have somewhere to store them) and use that as a tide-over

No Garage for spare set of wheels. Front garden paved. I will be applying for the kerb to be lowered.I will check for 100 amp.

We have an outside socket. The consumer unit is in the understairs cupboard. The hall floor and understairs is a solid ground slab. So the new cable will run understairs and out to the hall skirting and through the front wall to the left of the front door. It will continue its route under the from step to the bay wall where, (darn it!) there is a water tap and a 10" raised bed. As they used to say when I lived in Australia "She'll be right!" Usually a guarantee of quite the reverse.

Hey Ho! She'll be right!
For Forza just fill in the details here -> Specialist Vehicle & Asset Finance Solutions | Forza Finance

Tesla , was within the Tesla checkout after you have paid the deposit.
All sorted thank you.

The cable may be quite fat - is that likely to be an issue? Mine is about 1/2". Any 90-degree bends will need a bit extra for easing.

Attaching cable along the outside wall will be easy enough, provided seeing it won't offend you?
