Mounting front license plate

I'm wondering if anyone has come up with a magnet-based solution for mounting the front license plate? On my (non-facelifted) MS I used the method outlined here: Front License Plate Solutions but I haven't seen anything similar for the MX.

I'm really hoping for something that will allow me to put it on and take it off very quickly. Is there a feasible way of getting magnets mounted on the backside of the MX bumper?

It's probably:
4. All of the above
Having some experience with rare earth magnets and designing a few projects myself (mostly in the home, not in the car), I would say that this should be possible. Not to mention that a solution appears to exist for the Model-S. IMO, it's just a matter of someone rolling up their sleeves and figuring it out for the first time for the Model-X.

Please make sure you take good notes and if possible, video. :)

The way I would tackle this would be to:
  1. either remove or gain access to the front bumper
  2. glue magnets to corners of front licence plate cover
  3. Epoxy or sugru licence magnets for further protection
  4. place license on bumper and add bumper magnets behind bumper
  5. mark location of bumper magnets, then glue + epoxy magnets to bumper
  6. test strength to ensure it can handle most conditions
Good Luck!
