After reading a bunch of recent threads on this forum about poor deliveries, I was worried about my own. However, mine ended up being excellent.
To start, I got a phone call at 9:00am this morning saying that the Service Center had received my car and they were going to send it in for detailing. They said that I should be able to pick it up any time after 10:30.
I arrived at 11:30 and was immediately greeted by an OA who directed me to the delivery bay. I was then immediately handed off to my delivery specialist (whose name I forget, but he was excellent) who walked me through the car. I received a full briefing of the car, even though I knew most of the information already. He went through all the features including an in-depth tour of the touchscreen.
Throughout the briefing I was inspecting panel gaps, trim, and paint and couldn't find any issues. Maybe some very slight alignment issues on the order of 1mm. To be fair I'm not super anal about this stuff but everything seemed spot-on to me.
Next I signed all the paperwork and received my temporary registration which all took about 15 minutes. From there I was told I was free to go but I could stick around for a while to take photos and adjust the car if I wanted.
It took about 45 minutes from when I entered the building to when I was driving out the door. The car is perfect and my delivery specialist was enthusiastic and helpful. All in all a great experience.
One interesting point that my DS said was that they only had 13 deliveries scheduled for today (a Thursday). He said that tomorrow they had about 35 scheduled and Saturday they had around 50. So if I had chosen to take delivery one of those days it could have been a much different experience. Based on that I'd recommend to take delivery during the week if at all possible.
And, of course, photos:
