My 2017S75MCU2HW3 is updated to software v. 11 2022.8.2; however I can’t access blind spot video from the autopilot menu, and I can’t play light show. What am I missing? Do I need the upgraded cameras?

My 2019 Raven won’t get it either.
There is a Blog on Tesla site somewhere listing features for all cars.
Light Show I think only goes with Matrix Headlights.
You have a legacy Model S. Some folks that bought 2021’s early in the year are in the same bought.
That said, you are not missing much.

The refresh model S without the matrix headlights still had the light show. Assuming you are referring to the one from the Christmas update

Matrix lights not required. Both my Y and the S do not have matrix lights yet they do have the light show.

The 3 and the Y lead to an entire redesign of the X and S. All of these do both light show and blind spot camera. There is an exception as the older version X was the first to have a light show and still does.

If blindspot cameras only exist on new MCU3, post 2020, cars, how are those older cars able to join the FSD Beta program?

Tesla determined that the "older" cars would not get these features. There is no hardware or other limitation known, other than Tesla decided they would not provide the added features.
