No hatchback simply a point of differentiation?

While not awful, reminds me too much of a ripoff from Mazda design.

Perhaps the more appropriate hatchback design would be akin to the new Buick Regal (from Opel) or 4 Series, where you don't know it's a hatchback from its profile, but the backlight goes up with the decklid from what appears to still be a sedan. Still, that construction adds cost and weight and usually reduces cargo volume a bit, even if improving access (if needed).
