North Central Washington high amperage L2 Charging Project

We are Eight Hundred Dollars short of making the Davenport, WA 80A charger installation. The local community is coming together to contribute labor and some money to make this happen and Plug-In North Central Washington is donating the EVSE, signage, energy monitor and is contributing some money towards the installation. If you can help please send a check to: Plug-In North Central Washington, PO Box 4107, Wenatchee WA 98807-4107. We have scheduled the electrician on the firm belief that we will have the total before we need to write the check! We will issue a federal tax compliant receipt for your donations.

I'll send a small donation. Always good to fill in some areas on the map that allow travel outside the supercharger routes. Thanks for what you do.

Sorry to be so tardy in response; The Amazon Smile program provides Plug-In North Central Washington with about $35 a month. This program has a huge potential, the barrier is getting Amazon customers to actually select and use the Smile portal. We put a line or two about this program in one newsletter each year.

Davenport will have an 80A haL2! We are close enough to make it happen. Latest slow down was the AVISTA program which promised the city two L2 40A chargers if the city paid to install them; contractor estimate? Over $11,000! So, Plug-In North Central Washington will supply a ClipperCreek CS-100 (80A charger) and contribute to the $3,100 installation that our electrician quoted. We can use donations but be assured that this installation is scheduled to begin next month and should be operational by the end of October.

The city of Tonasket, WA will also likely have an 80A haL2 by that same date!

Thanks for all your hard work! A little something is in the mail.
Ditto. Actually you should have received it already.

Now I just need to convince the missus it's actually fun to get "off the beaten path" on our travels so we can use some of these locations!

Cheers!

Goneskiian; these locations are, "off the beaten path" and offer relaxing accommodations in stunningly beautiful locations. Nearly all of north central Washington is within a single charge range of a MS 85 or higher. September is still sunny and "warmish..."

This is one of those threads that is particularly awesome. Born in Yakima, grew up on an apple orchard between Peshastin and Leavenworth, before moving to the big city of Wenatchee. After living in 7 states and two countries later, still one of my favorite parts of the world. Keep up the great work. Still buy Washington apples, even though Michigan apples aren't horrible.

Thanks Jack. Thinking about an impromptu trip to Winthrop this weekend actually. May have to take the slow route over to Spokane next week too when I go help my mom move in to her new apartment.

Cheers!

At long last! I am excited to say that the Davenport haL2 80A unit will be inspected next week and that we should have it validated by Friday the 28th of October. With this Highway 2 is complete for EV Tourism and travel.

We are now focusing on an installation in Tonasket which will not only provide another charging opportunity on Highway 97 towards Canada but will allow access eastward to the Ferry County L2 unit in Republic...

We also are working to place an haL2 80A Bridgeport and Grand Coulee to facilitate travel to Grand Coulee Dam.
More to follow......

Davenport haL2 is validated an now on PlugShare and other EV driver APPs. Charged at 53 miles of range/hour on a Twin Charger equipped Model S. The numbers; 238VAC @ 78A

Stopped by our potential Host in Grand Coulee and will be seeking installation bids this month. Tonasket and Bridgeport are also in the bid solicitation mode and we hope to have operational haL2 charging opportunities in all three locations by the first quarter of 2017! Every one can help: when you charge use the "check in" facility on PlugShare and use Amazon Smile to do your on-line shopping with NCWEDD selected as your charitable partner!

Plug-In NCW is preparing to order six ClipperCreek CS-100 EVSE units to make the final installations in our plan. What you can see is that Everett to Spokane is EV80 doable. We will validate this Spring with a Leaf drive across the state. New Leaf owners Wendy and Ed Isenhart are already signed up! When Tonasket and Oroville are operational Highway 97 from Wenatchee to Osoyoos, BC will be an easy drive. Most exciting to me is the addition of Bridgeport and Grand Coulee. When these two are validated a fantastic weekend trip across the North Cascades Highway to Grand Coulee Dam will be open. The units at Cashmere and Rock Island are to provide some redundancy to those routes. Stay up with what we are doing with private money at: www.pluginncw.com

Donations gladly accepted; we guarantee 100% of donated money goes to EVSE units, the energy monitors, signage and installation costs. Plug-In also provides federal tax compliant receipts.

Anyone know of an EV club or organization in the Spokane area? There is no Electric Automobile Association Chapter listed and a search did not yield anything other than a meeting schedule from 2010! VW is soliciting projects for funding as penance for faking the EPA on diesel emissions. Plug-In NCW is submitting both L3 and haL2 projects for central Washington and our friends from the Tri-Cities, Mid-Columbia Electric Vehicle Association are doing the same for that area. We have some ideas for the Spokane area but need a sponsor... any help will be appreciated.

Plug-In NCW in partnership with the City of Tonasket is pleased to announce that they will host a charging opportunity at the Visitor's Center. Tonasket is an excellent location on Highway 97 and the Visitor's Center fronts on the highway, nearly in the center of the town. There is free WI-Fi and a nice park at the same location. Plug-In NCW will be delivering the ClipperCreek CS-100 next week, an electrician has been selected and we expect the site to be operational early in January.
