Just got home from my pickup at Tyco. Accepted delivery. I had a great experience, and was treated with respect, and it was 'socially distanced', but I'm not sure I'd call it contactless. I did the inspection inside, where there was no one around me other than the advisor keeping his distance, but at 95 degrees in the sun, and I knew I wanted time, it was cool that I was allowed to do the inspection mostly inside, and take it out at the end. The car was unlocked, and I was allowed to look inside and out before accepting delivery. I didn't accept through the app. I accepted and signed electronically on a device the advisor had from the counter. They did apologize for my first VIN experience, which was nice.

Here are the details:

- Gaps are great all around - doors, frunk, hatch - no adjustments necessary
- Windows open/close perfectly, and open slightly after opening/closing the doors many times
- Paint is good all around - no thin/cloudy spots, excessive orange peel, scratches, nicks, swirls, or dirt in the paint
- Trim is all good with a slight misalignment on the driver's side - will fix with mobile appointment
- Pass-side rear taillight misaligned - will fix with mobile appointment
- Charge port flap misaligned - will fix with mobile appointment
- Interior clean, no scratches/tears
- Rear seats aligned, and he told me this VIN had the new rear seat
- Both seats go down with the switches multiple times with no issues
- Hatch opens/closes with no issues
- Software is stable, A/C and all windows/electronics works without issues
- Drove excellent, no excessive wind noise, no creaks/rattles, steering alignment dead-on-center, doesn't wander on highway; only slight 'buffeting' at ~65-68MPH. I'll play a little with the hatch rubber buffers, but the alignment is very good, so unless I'm super annoyed, I'm going to leave it
- Came with all 4 hubcaps in plastic in the bottom of the trunk (I asked they leave them off - I have caps already)
- I asked they didn't install the front plate
- Compressor is quiet
- Plastic trim in frunk is secure and tabs aren't broken

One thing I noticed after delivery is that there is a small scratch on the piano black upper door that covers the wireless chargers. I showed him and he said it may buff out, or they will replace it. I'm not sure I'm going to have them take apart the console or not, as I have a wrap already here that I'm going to install.

I installed my Tesmanian mats all around, they fit very nicely, no gaps or issues. At 95 degrees or more outside in strong sun, I didn't have an issue with heat and the all-glass roof, even though I bought the full sunshade. I may only use that when the car is sitting in the sun for hours. After the photos were taken, I installed the wheel center caps, lug nut caps, front plate mount from Abstract Ocean, and stainless steel performance brake and accelerator pedal pads. I'm going to schedule on Monday to have full front PPF and ceramic coat the entire car. Shopping around, I'm getting about 1-2 weeks lead time for next appointments, and one week to complete the job.

Bottom line, I'm very happy, and was prepared for the worst, and was more than pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the ride all the way home!

Oh, one more thing..

So when I came home I took about 25 or so readings from all around the car with my paint thickness gauge. It varied in thickness no more than any other car I currently own, foreign or domestic. Average was between 4mil and 5.25mil all around. Most readings were in the low-to-mid 4mil range. About what my other vehicles measure, so I can't find any paint thickness issues between my MY and any other of the 3 cars I own. Maybe this was the week that Elon as at the factory? My build date is 6/6.

I stopped by the Tyco service center today and talked to the delivery specialist, he said the model Y delivery started yesterday, five yesterday and three today, they are all blue and midnight silver ones. As I was there, a blue AWD one was being delivered. I have a white AWD ordered, anyone in northern Virginia waiting for their delivery?

Yeah, I can confirm, Tyson Tesla Scheduled me for Sunday, 1230, then they called me today to say, that my Blue Model Y was not quite ready and it will take a couple of days to work out whatever issues they found, Dwayne my Service Rep said it was in the shop.

The new Pickup Schedule is for Tues the 30th. Kinda bittersweet for me, I'm excited but I appreciate that they are addressing issues before I show up. I really hope they work out QA and Logistic issues. Hoping for smooth delivery.

Picked up my W/W PUP FSD from Tyco today. Looks pretty good. A few paint chips in the panel seams they brush spot fixed. One scratch in the charge door plastic they could totally get rid of. Some extra cleanup they had to do. (Black roof window sealant, tape glue, liner smudges, etc.) Panel gaps, light housing, and charge door placement was all very good. Frunk and lift back open and close smoothly. Wheels were perfect. The pearl white paint job isn't even across the entirety of the car, but much better than some of the worst photos. Nowhere near as bad as @Ba2yev example, much closers to @stan23. Tyco Rd Tesla was busy, but the team working there was awesome. No problems addressing my items while i waited. I was happy to accept given the overall quality of the car. Drives awesome. Very excited.

Will get it wrapped with PPF and paint prepped. We will see how well it will glisten.

Congratulations! I know your will be busy driving, but please make some effort to post more about your positive experience. ;)

Got mine yesterday, it was a little bit of experience.

1. I was scheduled for Sunday the 28th but got a call on Saturday saying they needed to move my Appt to Tues, to address fit and finish issues
2. Got to the Tyco SC and was told, "Ahhh, sorry dude, your car is at the Body Shop still". "What, the body shop!, LOL, what happened? " Never got the details, just it did not meet their standards. They sent me home, with an appt to come back later in the day
3. Came back that evening, waited for another hour or so. All the frustration for me melted when they come out for you to sign the remaining paperwork, mostly for the Tags and DMV. Got Permeant tags vs Temp Tags.

All said and done the Tyco team were Awesome, they take you to the car (it's very hands-on, Masks of course), walk you through everything. Still had minor Fit and finish issues, but we photographed everything set up a follow-up appointment. Accepted the car, sync the app to my keys and Off I went.

MVPA and VIN 20XXX showed up in profile today. MSM/white/Induction/FSD/tow...ordered in Feb, added tow in May. Called SA who told me car was 'born' today...surprised that the system updated so quickly.... should arrive at Tyco the week of July 20 for pick up. :)

Anyone have experience working with Exotic Vehicle Wraps in Sterling for paint protection of ceramic coating? or other recommendations in the area.

Ordered my MY LR on June 26, after testing driving the MY Performance and then a M3 at Tyco, and picking it up on July 22. VIN is in the 25,000 range.
