Just went back to a four week window (from two) and slipped a month. I got excited when I got the "trade-in email" that suggested a September date might be real, but alas, it was not to be.
All is not lost. That is exactly what happened to me too. I went from two days before the start of my 14 delivery window to a 5 week window that started over a month away. I was so depressed. Next thing I know, I get notified I had a VIN and a four day delivery window 6 days away. I immediately replied and the next thing I knew I was offered delivery in 3 days. Since mine is a common build, I was afraid I was going to be offered a car that someone else rejected. Instead, my Y is almost absolutely perfect. May this happen to you too!

October 2021 delivery here - same thing happened to me over the weekend (new EDD late Sep-Oct). But then on Tuesday I actually got a VIN, and it's ready to deliver now (standard MYLR but with tow). Here's hoping for you.

I just got my first 2 week window! Sep 9-23. I ordered white/white and am thinking of switching to black interior. Could a configuration switch affect EDD at this point?
Do you have any other options on the car like 20", tow, EAP, FSD or 7 seats? If you do then EDD probably won't change much...will just depend when they produce a batch of white on black vs white on white. But if you have no other options other than white seats then you would be going to a base model order.
Up until this past week, base models with no options had about 3 month longer wait so that could delay your EDD...maybe. But just this week the main configurator has changed and no option and optioned orders are given the same EDD when ordering a new car. So I'm not really sure anymore if creating a base order will delay or not??

Took delivery yesterday of this beauty. Everything went great. Only 4 miles on the car. Matrix projector headlights and new interior door trim. No mobile charger but they gave a 200 tesla store credit. Came with the J adapter and a front license plate mount that sticks on with double sided tape (I won't be using it.) The car drove great! I am having full frontal PPF and window tint done. The interior looked spotless, no issues at all. The exterior had a few minor issues that I have created a service request along with my home link installation.
Missing paint spot on driver side door. Front windshield driver side trim molding misaligned. Scratch in the well of rear passenger door. Paint spec on plastic foot entry of rear driver side door. Minor scuff on passenger rear tail light.

The gaps between the rear tail lights and trunk were rather large but just under the tesla 5mil spec.

I consider this stuff to be very minor and hopefully telsa will quickly correct it.
