Got pushed like pretty much everyone. April 21 - May 5 => May 7 - June 4
I put in reservations for a Tesla Model Y LR (details at the bottom) and the Ford Mustang Mach-e Premium on the same day (10/13/2021), since we couldn't decide. The difference in the experience since then has been kind of interesting.
Model Y: Initial EDD was something like March - April. When the EDD changed to February, we thought "Well we'll definitely go with the Y!" Since then it's been a few dozen changes, and the EDD's have basically lost all meaning.
Mach-e: Initial EDD was April - May (They don't have a tracker but used to list an EDD on the order page). Between the order date and February, there were no updates. Then, on March 21, I got an email with my VIN and a scheduled production date for the week of 4/18, so it should be getting built soon.
Overall: Honestly, I kind of prefer the way Ford has handled the notifications better than Tesla, even if it means fewer updates. Certainly helps to have received a VIN too!
We've been leaning towards the Model Y for several months, but after this latest series of EDD changes, we're reconsidering. If we get an update that the Mach-e is built and on the way, we'll have to make a decision on if waiting for Tesla to deliver our car sometime between May 7 and ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is worth giving up a very comparable car that is delivered sooner.
