It is now, yes. It wasn't great when I picked up my Model 3 in November, but one of the software updates fixed it an made it work as well as on other EVs, arguably slightly better, as it does actually apply the brakes when you come to a stop.
I find it really intuitive. A big benefit of an EV. It just behaves how you'd want it behave if you'd never experienced the oddities of how a car has to behave if powered by an ICE. Funny how quickly the old discussions on here about creep mode vs [whatever the other one was called] disappeared after the relevant software update!
I wonder how many owners of cars with hold mode available don't use it now, and if so why? Might be time for a poll...
(edit) the other one is Roll isn't it. I get why you might choose it over CREEP, although I wasn't so keen, but not over HOLD. I think I will set up said poll.
