OT: Cost to Install Single Zone Mini Split

Two lessons learned from my project. I had an existing pad where my current AC units are installed but it is right next to the grass and just a bit too close to the grass. So to reduce the risk of my landscapers hitting the outdoor unit and to lessen the grass clippings that will be sucked into the unit, I put down some pavers to space the grass away and I put it up on a stand. Normally the stand is used in snow environments, but I noticed my current AC units were getting lots of grass clipping inside them. Also I installed a surge suppressor on the AC Disconnect for the unit. I learned that a common failure point is the controller board in the outside unit can get fried in lightning storm. So this was cheap insurance. They come in 240 and 120v versions. Both of these steps will help the unit live longer.... I hope.
