Fantastic pickup in Charlotte on March 21. The team in Charlotte were fantastic and the drive home was so easy. Car was nearly flawless, with only a piece of exterior door window trim a few mm out of sync. Fixed in 30 seconds.

Drove her home to the Charleston area with a nice stop at Santee supercharger. Seeing a charge rate of 274 miles/hr blew my mind. Met some other owners there as well. I think Clarke's Restaurant is pretty happy the chargers are behind their hotel - as we all seemed to be in for lunch. Thanks to all of you here, I knew quite a lot on pickup. Including how to find a charger that does not impact another owner. I originally had back into a b stall, and quickly adjusted. A small example of how great this TMC group is.

Autopilot, once you trust it, is a revolution in long distance driving. I will never - not - pay attention, but with a finger or two on the wheel feeling the car maneuver, you soon can anticipate it's moves. Lane changing is also extraordinary.

I think I might be obsessed with hitting the "300 line" of power consumption, a bit of a challenge and game. The drive gave me lots of time to see what impacts it, which is good because I want to do some long distance travel with it.

I struggled with the pano roof decision, but am not a lover of any sunroof, and am happy I went without it. Just a personal thing.

The car is more than I'd hoped. I am fortunate to have it, and feel good about supporting an important step forward. One without gas and CO2!

Well... maybe I'm one of the few... but I had about as poor of an experience as one could have today. I walked out on a deal today. I had an idea by how loosely the pricing was presented in several emails, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I mean, this is Tesla, their reputation is outstanding. It was a 2 hour drive and my appointment was early in the afternoon. I sat in the waiting area for an hour before I was seen. I get it.. busy day.. but I drove a long way and had a very long drive home. The car was presented, it looked great, and we were ready to go through the final details of the lease. To my surprise, the numbers were not at all what I expected. It was instantly clear that I was intentionally misled on price in order to get a deal done. After contacting my original salesperson, it was even more obvious that they were not interested in settling this amicably and in essence told me I was wrong and regardless of the circumstances had to sign the deal. The manager went even further to threaten me by saying I would forfeit my security deposit. Is Tesla so desperate for sales that they pull something I would expect from a Dodge dealer? I walked out on the deal. I was furious. You do not threaten a customer. And you present your pricing clearly with no room for confusion. Believe me, I wanted the car. But.. not at that price and certainly not under those conditions.

name withheld I would love to hear more details about your experience. how were you misled exactly? They should have given you the numbers up front and anything you did not understand you should have clarified before confirming your order.

I will say, Tesla is one o the auto manufacturers who prefers that you buy or finance your car outright. the leases are kind of terrible.

Wow, sounds terrible. Since you order online, usually, it's impossible for the company to mislead you at all- the numbers are all there in black and white. So it's hard to believe anyone could ever get it wrong.
I have no idea how it's done in lease-world, but I'm (to put it nicely) surprised by your post.
Hope it gets better for you.

This was a car that was already built. All the pricing was handled via email. I received the paperwork for review while I was driving to the store and didn't have a chance to review it. Certainly, I could have received that before I was en route.

I completely understand the need for a deposit on a custom build car. But... for a car that is on the lot, the deposit serves no other purpose but to hold it until the deal is signed. It should be of no consequence for Tesla to refund the deposit. The car can just go back to the lot where I have no doubt it will be purchased. Legally, I think they can't hold a deposit if I don't receive the car. However, if Tesla does not agree to refund the deposit, it should at a minimum stay on account for a potential future purchase. Forfeiting the deposit as if to pay a penance to Tesla is ethically immoral and shows a business ethic that is one I want no part of.

Very pretty car. I can't wait for my delivery date.

(Anyone know of warm driving gloves that can work a touch screen? Surely I am not the only person with this problem.)

When I did my first test drive on New Years day (2016), I was wearing men's leather gloves I had purchased several years back from Dillards. Just out of curiosity I tried the touchscreen to see if it would work with gloves (not knowing Tesla sold gloves for this) - and they worked ! The Tesla rep was surprised they worked, and then told me they sold gloves.

Don't remember what I paid for them, but I know it was NOT $100. And for me, they keep my hands warm.

Better late than never...

Our delivery was scheduled for March 15th and I was supposed to get home on the 14th, but my return was delayed by nearly a week. My wife took delivery as scheduled without me. Since it's unofficially her car, I can't really complain.

Here's a picture from the big day, with the obligatory bow.

Slightly under two weeks and we've put nearly 900 miles on the car. So far the car is everything we expected and is a joy to drive. I love plugging it in when I get home and not worrying about bringing it to the gas station (though we haven't gotten our first full-month electrical bill yet). We have some minor complaints about the car, but nothing unexpected.

The one sad thing was that someone backed into the car in a parking lot on Day 5, before I got home. The cosmetic damage is minimal but the point of impact was right where one of the parking sensors is, so all of the parking sensor features (including Auto-Parking and Summon) are disabled until we get it repaired.

When I got home, I did a little pre-emptive sanctimony deflation.

Picked up the Tesla on Sat March 26 at the factory. Sorry, I have been working all weekend. I agree with every other new owner. This car is amazing. I have a great story to tell about the initial inspection. During the inspection, I noticed a spot in the middle of the hood a little smaller than a dime. I rubbed my finger across it and so did my buddy. I sure did feel like the paint had been chipped. Even the delivery specialist checked it and he said wow, that is a paint chip, but I don't know how that got past 3 different inspections. He went to get another young lady to look at it so she could write up the damage. She walked over to it in front of all of us and licked her finger and rubbed the mark and it came right off. LOL it was so funny. We all were laughing. I was so relieved I didn't have to deal with a repair on a brand new car. BTW, the day I ordered the car was the day they swapped to the new wheels. So I was lucky to get them AND when I arrived and looked in the car I saw the console in there as well. I gotta say I'm never that lucky. I got the windows tinted today and am working on getting the wheels powder coated in a week or two. I am one happy guy.

I'm hoping to be as lucky as you when I pick up my Model S on Model 3 reveal day! Enjoy the car in good health.

I hear that people will be camping overnight and lining up for blocks just to get to your Tesla store on your delivery day. You have to feel like a rock star with a following like that when you pick up your car!

Its going to be crazy! I am secretly hoping that people in line are going to dress up in their velvet dinner jackets like Elon Musk...just like Star Wars fans dress up for a premier.
