My SC just said they can't push older versions after a new version is available...bologna!
See below. They can and will if enough people demand it!
You can install our site as a web app on your iOS device by utilizing the Add to Home Screen feature in Safari. Please see this thread for more details on this.
Note: This feature may not be available in some browsers.

Your faith is heartwarming. Still, just to be sure, it's a good idea to let them know we're not happy.I think this is just temporary. Big task was to port the code to S and X from 3. After it’s quirks are ironed out, they will add missing features back to S X.
Goes to show that you need to read many threads here, as well as the release notes. Because they did add blind spot detection for the newer cars.Slightly off-topic but this also goes to show that Tesla needs proper blind-spot monitors using rear-facing radar, not just slow ultrasonics, like every other automaker offers.
Installed V9 last night on our Model X. Got many calls from my wife this morning infuriated with the new UI. She can no longer have her camera on top of the screen and she doesn't care about maps at all. I agreed.
BTW, I had a UI feedback interview with Tesla website design team after I had a factory tour back in April. They agreed that Tesla in-car screen interface can be made better. Too bad that they probably do not talk to in-car interface designers.
Among the things I complained were the tiny size of the buttons they use for such a large screen. Also, many screen functions are not really "buttons" anymore (I liked pre-v7 screen interface versions more in terms of usability), so you have to kinda guess whether something is "clickable" or not. They made them even smaller in V9 and not separated from each other. What for??? I don't care how it looks, I want to easily navigate through the interface, without needing to "aim" my finger at an exact (tiny) spot on the screen.
But the thing I hate the most (still after having it for 6 months) is the door open/close interface: falcon doors buttons should be on the bottom of the screen, and the front doors buttons should be on top, not vice versa! And make them freaking bigger, please!
I don't, that's why I said "probably". What I know (from my experience) is that Tesla is poor at both internal and external communications. How do you know they don’t talk to in car interface designers?
My guess is they fired the S/X programmers to save money and are just developing for the 3.

Just read about this! So I’m assuming all AP2 cars even without EAP/FSD are now using side cameras for blind spot detection?
Id suggest that everyone submit an executive escalation to get some attention to this issue
to do this log into your Tesla account and then select to manage your car. In the support section use the drop down to select "escalate this concern for executive review" and enter your concern. [...]
If you guys can get them to change their mind, more power to ya. I’d buy ya a beer and say congrats on your effort.
count me in, I am just refusing the update for now untill I hear this has been corrected in some future release
