Phantom cones on display after patch

2020.12.5 gave us cool orange street cones even with HW 2.5, the only problem with this is that it’s displaying invisible cones, I guess end of the world walking dead cones that may have been there 10 - 20 years ago.

Anyone else with this issue? I’m at work but will post pictures tomorrow.

Seeing the same thing on hardware 2.5. Seems it tags a lot of things as cones that really arent

Seen random phantom cones since day 1 of HW3. Sometimes it’s a sign post, but it also happens for other random objects.

Recognition AI is hard, just google “chihuahua or muffin” for one funny example.

ive seen once or twice when i catch an orange cone in my peripheral, ill look around and see it would be a plug (firefighter vernacular for fire hydrant). im still amazed it can sense the different rubbish bins (it sees the wheels on the bottom) and those taller thin white "cones".

In my case, THERE’s NOTHING THERE! Lots of ghost cones.

So far I have only seen the ghost cones when I am in the right lane and there are roadside reflectors. I submitted a bug report.

Just got 12.5 last night so ventured out for the first time in a while to get takeout from a local restaurant. My neighborhood has individual mailboxes on posts for each house. Guess what Tesla thinks they are? Yep, cones. Same with the rosebush at the end of my driveway. And the Stop Head sign at the end of my street.

No FSD.

Love the new Sentry functionality though.

I have this too. HW 2.6 and cones displaying or objects that I don’t even “see”.

This will likely disappear in the next few weeks as the neural net gets trained on what is and is not a cone.

Phantom cones! well Idk for the brief eye check I can do when passing them even the 100,s out on the motorway seem to be very much represented at high speeds. Phantom cones I am afraid I just do not believe the car could miscount

Me too. Cones started appearing yesterday after update. I was driving through a construction zone so it was correct. On my way home phantom cones were appearing.
