You could also sell your old calipers for a few hundred. Then you'd have new calipers/pistons/seals and the color you want for $1000ish.I paid about $800 to get mine painted and thought that was on the high end for what it was. Not sure I'd drop $1600 and change on them if the only thing different is the color.
Tesla red calipers are painted and not powercoated. I can see red overspray on the piston seals.I paid about $800 to get mine painted and thought that was on the high end for what it was. Not sure I'd drop $1600 and change on them if the only thing different is the color.
Think I'm wrong about it just being painted. Probably powercoated and baked with the seals since they can handle that heat.Tesla red calipers are painted and not powercoated. I can see red overspray on the piston seals.
Did you post what the cost was? I may have missed that.Think I'm wrong about it just being painted. Probably powercoated and baked with the seals since they can handle that heat.
I got the calipers from my local service center and they came loaded with pads. Both Tesla and a local shop wanted about $1k to swap the calipers so I did it myself. Took less than 3 hours. Tesla specs 30 PSI for pressure bleeding and I bled the fronts at 20 PSI and rears at 28 PSI. MFrunkerOG noted in a another post that due to the smaller diameter rear lines, you have to bleed at 24 PSI or higher (bleeding our brakes)

For these?$440 each
The opposite pricing would make more sense, but who knows with TeslaI heard that it is $750 to upgrade to red calipers or $2700 to upgrade to red calipers with the new pads.
I think it's the other way around, $750 for the pads alone, and the Calipers+Pads for $2,700I heard that it is $750 to upgrade to red calipers or $2700 to upgrade to red calipers with the new pads.
Yes... exactly the same calipers but the rear Mandos have a larger faux cover. They came loaded with the "upgraded" pads. For these?

I still don’t see red caliper upgrade in the app, request services2 hours...
I installed myself and purchased only the 4 calipers @$440 each. They came preloaded with pads. I don't know why you would need new hoses when they are the exact same calipers with a different color. When I did the swap, the only way to trigger the ABS pump for bleeding was through a toolbox sub but they have now included it in the service menu. Make sure you burnish your brakes after. So they quote it as:

I used a pressure bleeder and didn't have any issues. Rears need about 25psi though. Were you using the pedal to pump the brakes for bleeding? I used a vacuum pump at the caliper and had no issues.
