Plaid center console light turns off when fully opened?

It does not. Deep console light is off when all drawers are open. If you start closing the top most slide (which covers the entire console), light trips on. If you slide that entire cover closed, the light remains on.
Mobile said they will look into it and left (not my preferred answer, but he was already here for three hours swapping the console). I have them coming out for separate issues Monday and we shall see.
@WilliamG or someone else - do we have the part number or the correct dipswitch configuration for the console? I will dig through this thread this weekend, but curious if someone has it readily available.

I don't have the correct part number I'm afraid. I haven't seen discussion on this for a good while. Figured everyone would have had it fixed by now.

For future awareness, the following part does not work

It's mind-blowing how Tesla can STILL not be getting the console lighting correct after literally YEARS of building the refreshed Model S, and such a dumb error as well!
Crazy.
Just got my Tesla back and the third console does resolve the issue. First one (quoted here) did not but it seems they used the same part this go around but added the quoted part below. BE aware, they have changed the cup holders however to have three "grips" to hold cups better (I assume). And I hate it. Standard water bottles you have to force into the cup holders now.
For awareness, here is my part number from the invoice:
The lined cup holders with the grips has been around for a while. Mine was upgraded in 2021 and changed then.
Interesting, when in 2021? My car was delivered in November/2021 and did not come with them. However, this was the the first stint with replacing the console. Get the reasoning behind them, just not a fan.

Sorry for the delay. It was replaced 11/20/2021. First of many replacing the console for me.
I was bitten by the backwards lighting yet again last night. I have given up on my wood trim and am replacing all wood with carbon fiber parts. Last night I replaced the rear screen with the thin bezel version and decided to tackle the center console decor swap at the same time.
I got it all back together and checked the lights. They were backward, off when open and on when closed. I took everything out again and spent some time with a multimeter in different positions. The only switch that was different from the wood decor was the sliding lid switch. The one in my wood decor was normally open and the one that came with the new carbon fiber decor (CONSOLE, DECOR, ASSEMBLY, TWILL 1564416-04-E) was normally closed. I swapped them and it worked fine afterward.
This had been fixed by Tesla previously. As a result, I have no way of knowing whether or not my wood trim switch that worked was the result of a previously changed switch or something else that compensated for a wrong switch. In any event I identified which switch was the culprit in case it helps someone else here. See the pic attached. There was no part number or identification that I could see on the switch.
