Plastic rim around rearview mirror?

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the holidays. Just wondering if anyone knows about this plastic rim around the rearview mirror? it feels a bit cheap like it’s packing that should be taken off. Now I definitely don’t want to peel it off and discover it belongs there. Does anyone know anything about this clear tube edging around the mirror?

that looks like a protective cover possibly for transport? does it move around when you grab it? I do not have that on mine. Take that trash off of that beautiful frameless rear view mirror!

Where you able to take the plastic off?

I think I may have one on mine too, I just tried to clean my rear view mirror and can clean the smudges. It’s as if it has two layers. Very weird.

I removed it yesterday looks and feels much better!!! it took me a while to get a response on this but much appreciated!!!
