I think the 7000 post purchase activation effective does that.

Other than the insane, who is going to put 7000 on a 20% APR credit card with a 30 day grace period versus 5000 financed over 60/72 Months at 2.25%?

But you get the rewards, and maybe a multiplier on them if you play your cards right!

I would write a check. Or I would put it on my card then pay the balance off in full.

The P model get's inverters that pass spec. Less than .5% of them AWD do not pass this spec so almost every AWD car can go to a P. Any car that has an inverter that can't pass is likely identified. In time this will be very clear once some salvage AWD non- cars get out there.

So.... Tesla parts catalog came out, and the front and rear motors are the same part (with inverter apparently built into the assembly) for all AWD LR cars.

All inverters on Teslas are done this way and I'm not sure what the same part numbers have any significance.

After seeing the parts catalog I feel like I need to change my vote... makes me think it's entirely software now. And that could be why the RWD has always felt "artificially" slow to me... as if we are not hitting any limits of the actual motor

No Tesla ever hit the limits of its motors outside the factory. They have always been software locked. We even know at what those limits are set, or we did until the API was turned off for the 3D and 3P.
