PPF hack job? Need opinion - Model Y 2023 [resolved to owners satisfaction]

I will not name the shop as of now as I don't want to ruin their reputation until I can confirm this was a hack job.

I got a complete front end Xpel PPF from this Southern California shop ask was expecting a full wrap and not 3 pieces together on the front bumper. They are claiming all PFF shop have the cut like this and there is nothing else they can do. I have yet to confirm this as I haven't had a chance to visit other PPF shop.

For anyone who had done PPF wrap on Model Y can you confirm your wrap does not look like mine? If you can post pictures of the same corner that would also help. Also please state which shop you got it from.

I paid 2000. Which is the standard price for PPF in Southern California

doesn’t look unusual. Its a full wrap using precut pieces id imagine. Mine looks similar on my model S done by xpel dallas.

I’ve seen full front ends done in 1 piece but they’re custom done

I posted the same thing in Reddit and got a few pictures from other PPF shop on Model y. Definitely look alot cleaner than mine.

I will take a pic of what my shop did and it wasn’t like that. They cut at the end or the corner. Don’t think they are skilled. The shop you went to maybe lazy method lol.

What is the 3rd piece? for shops that use precuts, the lower lip is usually a separate piece

Mine and my daughters has a cut, but it's right at the corner and barely noticeable. I think some just have higher standards than others.

Mine looks about the same. It was from a shop that does all the exotic and high $$$ cars FWIW

It’s not a whole piece they install middle part separately from the bumper but doesn’t look like yours.

Your edge is lifting. They needs to be trimmed off.

Man this area is hard when taking pics. But no lifting at all just the angle and lighting will show but that line you see is separate piece to the bumper and the middle. It isn’t cut like yours everything supposed to be cover.

Your edge is lifted on the other side along the circumference of the turn. Needs to be trimmed. Dirt will collect underneath

Yeah I ask them about that they said the adhesive will stick. So guess will see I checked it. At the very corner at the end.
