Pre-Paid Service Plan Fine Print versus Delivery Specialist Description

Hi all,

I am thinking about purchasing the pre-paid service plan(s) and have a couple of questions for those who already have.

  1. My delivery specialist said that Tesla will refund you for any unused visits if you end up selling the car before using them all. The service agreement essentially says that the agreement can't be canceled and no money will be refunded to you. What are everyone's thoughts on this discrepancy?
  2. The agreement states that service visits must be used within 1,000 miles or 30 days of the specified maintenance intervals. I have read others say that this isn't actually enforced. Has anyone had a situation where Tesla did strictly enforce this provision of the contract, resulting in you losing visits?

The agreement states that "no person has the authority to change this Agreement or to waive any of its provisions," so I hesitate to rely on anything the DS states as a lawyer could just point to that clause statement and say that it doesn't matter that I was told otherwise.

Thanks!

They offered to pay for the used visits when I was looking into trading in my S85. I ended up selling it privately, so I transferred it to the new owner (no fee required, unlike what the document says)

You can get the service once a year regardless of miles, so the 1000 mile/30 days of maintenance intervals clause it not enforced.

They really need to update the document to reflect the actual policy.

I asked my local SC for clarification on the extended warranty and unused pre-paid service visits on my Sig S, and whether they can be transferred to a new owner in a private sale. I was told 1) I can transfer an extended warranty but not the prepaid service; 2) I will be reimbursed for unused pre-paid service visits (I paid for eight and have used three).

Had also purchased the now-discontinued Valet/Ranger supplement; I still don't know if there will be any reimbursement for the remaining 4-1/2 years on that plan and the calls I have in on the subject have not been returned.
