Search the forum. Valentine is not going to work or will have limited range because of windshield comstruction. I do not think the situation has changed. If you discover otherwise, please post, as my Valentine has been in a drawer since I originally got my P85 and I did not try it when I upgraded to my P100d.

There was a similar recent thread with several people posting that the dampening effects of the windshield were improved with the refresh. I tried it preliminarily recently and my V1 worked where I placed it to the left of the rearview mirror. It seemed range was less. I have not tried it at alternative locations on the windshield.

The "open" spot is to the RIGHT of the rear view mirror, not the left to my knowledge.

I know you have a V1, so it won't help you, but I have an Escort Passport Max mount on Thingiverse that I designed to mount that detector in a Tesla so it fits in that exact spot. Works for both Pre and Post AP cars. You can probably adapt it for the V1.
