My guess is he wanted to put it next to the entrance, to display the Model X from the nicer front view. But if you park that way, the Supercharger cable can't reach the car. Oh well...

Don't get me wrong, piano black looks good. But really only on something that really isn't ever touched, like say high end audio speakers. For seat backs, they will get all scratched up and smudge marks/dirt are super apparent.
