Recent NYC order

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone in the NYC or tri state area has taken delivery or at least received a VIN in the last 2 weeks. I know there was a big Q1 push at the end of March but am curious to see if any MY ordered after the quarter have started to ship to the east coast. I ordered a MY on 4/2 and my delivery estimate has been around May 1 - May 16. I ordered black exterior, white interiors, induction wheels, no tow, no FSD. Thanks!
Just curious if you got your delivery? I have exact same config as you on order. Placed order 4/24 for Brooklyn VB pickup. Current delivery estimate is June 12 - June 30.
thank you.

Anyone recently install a NEMA outlet at home for charging? If so, how much did you pay for parts + labor to your electrician?
I installed a wall connector myself a few weeks ago. I bought a 25ft 6/2 cable from Home Depot, 60 amp breaker, conduit sealant for a total of $130. Well, $630 if you add the cost of the charger. There's currently a tax incentive for 30% off a charger plus up to $1000 for installation cost.

I got my VIN and delivery date May 28-31 this morning for Mt Kisco pickup. Will try to schedule for Monday since I still need to figure out travel arrangements to get there. This is for an April 9 order. Yesterday the dates went from 6-10 weeks to June 10-26. Then boom, VIN overnight.
im in the same boat waiting for them to contact me to schedule payment and pickup

Congrats!

Section disappeared for me -- ordered May 9th and have seen the '9-12 weeks' messaging since then.

I picked up my MY today at Mt. Kisco. Very smooth process in that the car was ready for me even though I got there 15 minutes early. I inspected the car and the only thing I found was what appeared to be an abrasion on the glass roof. I kind of went, "@#$@# Nooooooooooooooo" for a second but it ended up being some polisher that wiped right off. In and out in less than 30 minutes. The delivery specialist said they have a lot of cars at their offsite facility and today was really the first day with a steady flow of deliveries in a while, he expects the pace to pickup and continue right until the end of quarter next month. I was glad I was able to take delivery on the front end.

My only other comment is related to my drive home in the rain. Autopilot really struggled (aborting often) in a moderate rainfall (wipers set to the lowest continuous setting) throughout the day, it got annoying after a while. I don't know if this behavior is different now that the radar is gone, but "Tesla Vision" has a lot of room for improvement based on my first impressions.

Coming from a Chevy Bolt supercharging was awesome and the acceleration, even on wet roads, almost got me in trouble a couple of times as the Bolt would just spin the tires if you tried to push it too hard. Oh, my car was born in April and did not have the new headlights or free mud flaps or free rear panel protection. Which is fine since I already have the flaps and PPF on the way.

I suppose your car needs more time to "calibrate"? I had completely different experience with autopilot during my drive home in the rain. My car was build in April with 5 miles on the Odometer. It took a good 20 something miles before Autopilot became available, I used autopilot for 25 miles during a downpour until I got off the highway without any issues. I saw a lot of folks complaining about auto wipers not woking correctly, I didn't have any issues with this either.

I suppose time will tell as I drive the car a lot more, but the only negatives things I had the service center fixed on the spot before I took the car home were the following:

1 - Rear seats could not fold from neither the release handles on the seats now the trunk.
2 - The right rear seat was not secured
3 - There were some dirty substrates on both the driver and passenger seats
4 - The third seats were loose.

It is possible that autopilot needs more calibration time, yet my drive was around 250 miles today. My only issue with the auto wipers is they generally go faster than I want them to...:)

Sounds like a good pickup experience then. Good news on the cars at the offsite facility and the increasing upcoming deliveries! Did you feel rushed or pressured to hurry through your inspection? Any idea if they would have been willing to make any minor adjustments/repairs there on the spot or is the expectation that a service appointment will be scheduled at a later point?

Finally, any photos showing what the pickup lot looked like, and how many other new cars were in the process of being picked up while you were there?

When I got onsite they had you fill out a brief online form basically to show that you were there and ready to pickup the car. Then you went to a different online form that was a checklist that needed to be complete before you could complete delivery. My car was sitting on the lot with my name on it and it was open. I took about 20 minutes going through the car and I was able to call over a service tech to "fix" the roof issue. At no time did I feel pressured to complete my inspection and I think they schedule an hour for each delivery. By then they had my paperwork done and put my temporary registration and plates on the car. There appears to be space for about 40 cars in the parking lot, but this would include peoples trade-ins. There also are a couple of automotive repair bays built into the back of the store so I expect that simple repairs or adjustment could be done there, more complex repairs would probably have to go to their offsite location. Space is definitely at a premium and I could see things bottlenecking on busy days. Here are a couple of photos, I didn't take many because I was focused on my car...:)
