Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

Finally had my Sentry Mode issue resolved. It hadn't captured ANYTHING since I received my MX in Feb 2022. It's gone in for multiple SC visits and no one could figure it out. I had to make time, take it to a busy lot (airport lot) and contact Tesla to troubleshoot it live. It took a lot to get this scheduled, but once they were able to check, they fixed it. I haven't received the 'answer' on how to fix it yet and if I do, I'll relay it. But know that if your sentry mode isn't working well, there is a fix.

It has been a long wait, but I finally accepted delivery of my Model X this past Saturday! I remember like it was yesterday when Tesla announced the refresh and I told myself I'd be better off waiting till the summer of 2021 to order so they would have production kinks worked out by then! (LOL) Order date was June 1, 2021 and delivered on August 27, 2022 at Mt Kisco. Overall delivery experience was good. There were probably around 30 deliveries going on while I was there. Tesla staff and customers all over the place. Tesla staff definitely seemed worn out and very tired, but they were mostly friendly. There were only 3 other Model X's staged for delivery that I could see. All other deliveries were 3/Ys and one Model S.

Fit and finished was honestly really good. Some very minor panel gaps that I will probably not bother with the SC for. Driver side FWD opens and closes all the way. Passenger side FWD very slightly touches the spine of the car when open, only on the side closer to the trunk. So slightly I am not sure if it is a big deal or not. I haven’t seen this issue before. I know I am close to my fence in the pictures with FWDs open but far enough away where as it’s opening all the way it could with no fence near it.

Worm on yoke is almost nonexistent. I can kind of see it but only if I am really looking for it. Someone who didn't know about the worm before would not even notice it on my yoke.

No ripples or creases in the white seats.

I did ask about the key fobs (I know it’s hit and miss and that Tesla isn't giving them out anymore) and the guy helping me pointed to my key cards and went "these are your keys" I repeated myself and said that Model X is supposed to come with key fobs, again, he goes "the key cards are your keys''. So I politely said that I am speaking of the key fobs that are in addition to the key cards. He then understood what I meant and explained that key fobs are being discontinued because they are not really used a lot amongst Tesla drivers. (LOL) Made it seem like they wont be for sale on the website anymore either. I find this to be a huge bummer and am upset since I really don't like phone key and want a fob. The Tesla store is out of stock online right now or else I would have purchased one already.

I was able to get my free 1000 Supercharger miles from my referral order, since I used it when I ordered last June. They said as long as you applied the referral code at time of order you are good, because their system does not allow them to input referral codes any more.

I had to drive 5 hours back home to Upstate NY and really got time to enjoy my first drive in the car. Well worth the wait, so much more comfortable than my Model Y. Honestly I was so annoyed with the Yoke but could care less now. It is different but I am already used to it and the controls that are built into it such as the blinkers. I do really love the tilt screen. I drove the entire way home with it tilted towards me as I felt it seemed far away. I'm used to a Model Y screen. Also can't believe how much larger the car is from what I remembered. Test drove a number of Model X's prior to the refresh and don't remember it being so big. But I wanted a big car so it's all good!

My car is still operating on 2022.15.102 so I was able to see my energy graph on the ride home. Sad to know I am going to lose it once I update.

Pic as proof of delivery!

Finally got her today. Cincy service center is amazing. They let me look through the car before purchase and take as much time as I needed. Car was just about perfect - only thing I could find from the checklist is there doesn’t seem to be a plug to keep the grease from coming out of the tow hitch (see photo). Another thing in noticed but isn’t on the checklist is that the dashboard screen seems to be a little cut off at the bottom. You have to get really high above it to see the bottom - is that normal? Tried to take a picture to show what I’m talking about - see below. Yolk is a bit weird to drive with especially when making quick turns, and I keep reaching for a turn signal but over all getting used to it. The acceleration is so fun. Sound system amazing. Phone connectivity better than I expected, though I would still prefer Apple CarPlay. This is the happiest I’ve ever been for a purchase. It’s cliché now but it’s worth the wait. Hope you all get yours soon. Hopefully the seemingly increasing quality and maybe/hopefully some new features (looking at you matrix headlights) will be your reward for the extra wait.

Received my Model X 7 seater today in Fremont. Reservation is from December 2020. Never thought I would wait so long, but the car is awesome. There is a small paint chip, so I am taking in this Friday to have dealt with.

I didn’t realize it was a touchless delivery, so basically no customer service or even a congratulations. Seems they would at least make sure you know some of the key functions, like how to put the car in drive or reverse, and are comfortable with the yoke.

I do have a question for people that have take delivery. There is a slight hum when the car is parked. My model 3 doesn’t have the same hum. Is this normal? I know an EV isn’t silent, but the hum is just different than my model 3.

I also have that hum and was wondering the same thing.

437 days since order, a month and a half without a car after my Model 3 as totalled after being t-boned. I feel like the Model X is a fever dream, I refuse to believe it really exists. Everyone who has taken delivery is a liar, fakes! Wake up sheeple, everyone without a VIN are real people. Until they're onboarded onto this delayed gratification social experiment as well.

Any suggestions for Ceramic coating and Window tinting for Model X Refresh around Seattle/Bothell area?
greatly appreciate suggestions?

Also what is the amount of tinting that is accepted in Washington state for the front windshield and front windows?

You want consistency but when you get it you bitch about that too.
Let's face it, I'll bitch about anything and everything until they give me my X. I've been waiting 425 days on a car that when I ordered it I was told would be ready in 180 days. Meanwhile I'm driving around in a gas guzzler with no air conditioning and every day has been hot this summer. So every week when I'm filling my car with triple digit gasoline, and every time I show up to my destination sweaty, I curse Tesla and their production schedule.
