Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

I was wondering the same thing, except I just looked at my order details. Prior to changing to 6 seater, my Oder agreement had Model X listed at $69k, with LR option as a second line of 20k. Now, after changing to 6 seater, updated details have Tesla Model X LR listed 89k in one line. Oh well… still getting a great deal!!!
I switched from 7- to 6-seats, the updated invoice for mine still shows the Model X price at $69,990 and the LR option at $20,000.

I’m getting really pissed about this refresh. Not even because of the wait, I expected that. But 2 of the main uses we plan for the X are road trips and carrying our e-bikes. Now I’m seeing the range at 348 vs 371 of the previous model (I know, subject to change, software, real world rating, etc.). And this morning I’m reading the tongue weight limit is only 120 lbs?!? We carry 2-3 e-bikes at a time and that alone would be over the limit, let alone the weight of the heavy bike rack itself. My QX60 was easily able to handle that and so does my friend’s 2018 X.

I’m at the pre-$15k price increases level, so I don’t want to just cancel my order. But at this point, I wish I could just sell my reservation for $10-15k and apply that to a Raven X. Plus I prefer the vertical screen instead of this stupid Y/iPad style screen. Everything about this refresh feels, to me at least, like it went backwards, not forwards in progress.

I would agree, I'd cut your loss of the $250 and get a Raven.

I suspected Tesla will make a range update for newer MX given that they are paying $15k more. :p
Maybe… and I’m just saying MAYBE, Elon has realized there’s a huge demand for Suburban/Expedition/Yukon full size SUVs, and is trying to discontinue the model X and then introduce a full size SUV.
Yes it’ll require a 250kWh battery. Bring it on.

I will buy a 500+ mile range Tesla “Suburban/Escalade” in literally the time it takes me to fill out my info on the Tesla buying page. Without even a second of hesitation. I wouldn’t be looking at the price. I wouldn’t be looking at the detailed specs. I would see “Suburban sized” “Tesla” and “500 mile range” and the order form would be populating.

I mean if you drop off kids at school you know the demand is huge. Every mom has one (exaggeration but you get my point).

Meanwhile holding onto my order and waiting to see if there’s an announcement coming re: a truly long range Model X…

Oh yeah, instant purchase on my side too but it’s taken them a year to refresh an interior and bumper of the X so how long will we wait for one of these

That first part about a full-size SUV just simply isn't gonna happen. Esp not with 500 miles of range. They'll make a van eventually but it's super unclear what style or size van. Maybe the X might bet a 400-mile range 4680 update in 2023, but even then it's a maybe.

It just dawned on me... With all of those built MX's sitting in the lot (from the flyover video) wouldn't that mean that a bunch of people got Vin numbers? I thought accounts got assigned VIN numbers as soon as the vehicle was built..........So even if these are missing a part or 2 shouldn't the owners have gotten VINs once it came off the line?

I just find it odd that in the population of orders on this forum and reddit, we have only seen 2 people getting VIN numbers.
It kind of makes sense.
According to Wikipedia Tesla has sold over 2,000,000 cars since 2012. The home page of this forum says it has 175,000 members. In other words 1 user on this forum represents 11.5 Teslas on the road.
With the 3 users have reported VINs and factoring how many total users are active daily on TMC I would put money on that every car in that temp lot has a VIN assigned to a user.
