Replacing NEMA outlet

Hey everyone,

Im going to be upgrading my NEMA 14-50 outlet from a Leviton to a Bryant and I’m handy enough to be able to do the swap myself. My question is what is the torque specs for the terminal screws and what tools are you using to measure. I saw somewhere somebody had mentioned 75 lbft but that seems very high and all the torque screwdrivers I’ve seen only go to 50 lbft.

Thanks for your input!

I can't find anything on the manufacturer's website about it, but this thread on the TMC forum mentions 75 INCH-pounds (not foot-pounds)...

Thanks guys, INCH pounds makes much more sense. I read that original thread pretty quickly and I guess my mind replaced it with foot pounds since that is what I’m more used to. Was thinking I’d have to break out the lug wrench or something!
