Required To Reseat Dashcam USB After Every Software Update

Every time my 2022 MSLR gets an update, the dashcam is disabled. This just happened again for update 2023.20.9. This can be seen with an x on the dashcam icon. To remedy this, the glovebox USB can be pulled out and then reinserted. The car has the original provided USB. Does anybody else have this happen?

I have a high endurance micro SD card in an adapter and the same thing happens on some updates and with lesser frequency when I perform the dual scroll-wheel reboot.

The same thing happened to M3 owners some months ago except it happened every time the car started. If I remember correctly, the car displayed a dashcam failure message on the screen and advised to reset the USB, which worked for me. A later update corrected the problem.

mine used to do that a lot.. i'd have to just format the SD card after a reboot.
however in the past few months, it seems to resolve itself on it's own... after a reboot it'd show the X..but after a few minutes it cleared up and works normally.

Well, I really don't know but would guess that updates will not be affected.
