Just a heads up, it appears the retrofit from 2.5 to 3.0 is starting to happen. If you have FSD, you might be able to get that upgrade install if your service center has the computer. It is a plug and plug except you have to take apart half the dash.

Do you have a source for that? Last we had heard all hardware 3 upgrades were on hold. Everyone’s appointments were just cancelled.

But if they have started up, that would be good news.

I just talked to my local Tesla mobile service guy.

He said that the hardware is ready to go and a 5 to 10 minute job to do the swap in model s and x

But on the software side it can take half a day to get the job done

So they are waiting until the software is a one button push for the service guys

Half the dash? You remove the glove box and swap the boards. I’ve seen someone say mobile can do it in 30 mins.

What’s the ‘half the dash’ from?

It may take a while for the software load and calibrate, sure.

My 2000 dollar investment in my 2 Tesla’s might actually fruit sooner than later.

FYI, no reason for a one word post. Just click "Watch Thead" in the top right. It will change to "Unwatch Thread" so you can toggle it.

BTW, people do this on Facebook all the time, also. No need there either. Click on the three dots at the top.(on mobile) and choose ‘turn on notifications for this post’.

    (Thought that might be useful...)

Confirmed it is happening. Asked my tech at my service center today. Not going out wide to masses, seems like invite only for select people. He said they haven’t swapped out yet, but it is planned in near future. First guy in my area is a Tesla employee.

Any chance AP3 will allow AP2 cars to have real Sentry mode/dash cam recording capabilities?

No chance - that functionality is in the MCU, not AP computer.

I would like to know when the upgrade for AP2.0 is planned as well. Question is will there be a 3.5 soon and if so how many versions can they keep upgrading to?
