Just had a call from Tesla & finally, 10 whole weeks since my car went into production I have an appointment to pick it up on Jan 19th! Very excited. The bulk of that timeframe seems to have involved the car being in Tilburg. Hopefully the next 2 weeks will go quickly

Congrats! I hope they honour that pick up date! Where are you collecting from?
Mine arrived in Tilburg on 15th Dec, before Christmas I was given a provisional available date of 5th Jan but having spoken to Tesla a few days ago they said it was still in Tilburg and could be end of Jan delivery.....the wait continues....

One of the reasons for the delays for the cars from Tilburg to the UK was infact transportation. Apparantly due the the size of the model x the normal transport wasn't big enough so now they send a mix of X and S that works. It just shows you how the smallest of detail can throw a spanner in the works.

I'll be so annoyed if they don't! What are they doing in Tilburg?! It only spent 3 days in production & will have been in Tilburg for (I think) 5 weeks. They're just putting the battery in & doing final testing, I don't understand how that takes so much longer than building it. I know the battery comes on a different container but even so, the delay between the 2 can't be that big.

Anyway - after it arrived in Tilburg I contacted my DS for a delivery update & she said possibly last week of Dec but if not definitely 1st week of Jan. So, when I'd not heard anything I chased up & she replied to say a colleague would be in touch to set up a delivery date & about an hour or so later I got the call to say it'd be ready from the 19th. Obviously I said I'd be available on the 19th & he booked me in for 10am

I'm in the same boat as you. Mine finished production on 8th Nov, arrived in Tilburg 15th Dec. It was supposed to arrive this week at West Drayton for final delivery prep and I'd collect on Tue but there's been some issue in Tilburg.

I think there must be some regulatory issues for cars heading to the U.K. This resulting in delays.

I actually can't see dvla allowing hands free cruise and steering control for overtaking or just driving. Just like the BMW i3 I think the dvla will insist on steering wheel Sensors, where hands need to be holding the wheel to ensure full control in the event of a glitch. Although the car would still steer automatically, fingers would need to be in contact . For this reason I have just cancelled the enhanced autopilot

But it hasn't been an issue to date with AP1 cars or some AP2 S and Xs? I don't think it's regulatory, I think manufacturing fault.

Also didn't someone earlier in this thread say a couple of X's were delivered in December. First one out of Manchester (which is where mine's coming from) & also Heathrow? Can't be a regulatory thing if some people got theirs in December

Delivered to the UK but they could be dealer cars and the full enhanced autopilot might not be installed. The LHD at Solihull which I test drove had non of the latest software

Correct me if I'm wrong but the AP1 does require the driver to indicate and initiate the turn before the autopilot takes over?
Yes, but they can limit functionality by jurisdiction if they wanted to, and AP2 doesn't have as much functionality as AP1 yet.

My friend's had an AP2 Model S delivered. I can't see it's a regulatory hold up.

Good luck- I got my invoice a month ago and no word on delivery yet!

I'm remaining positive that it will be happening on the 19th because the invoice isn't on MyTesla (probably due to me not completing the request final paperwork section), the delivery specialist sent me it on email after her colleague had called me to schedule a collection appointment & said I'd need to pay prior to the 19th. So hopefully if they're actively chasing me for the money it IS going to happen
