Wiki Selling TSLA Options - Be the House

The fact that TSLA is down 4% when the QQQ is up 0.79% is paralyzing me. I feel like this is an aggressive push by short sellers and we will get a rebound. On the other hand, if QQQ goes red later, TSLA could drop a lot more. Or, if CPI is bad tomorrow, TSLA could really get punished tomorrow.

I should have sold 240 CC at the open. Already down more than .15 since. I didn’t because I was expecting a rebound from the pre-market sell off….

Still got 15x -p215's open for this week, so STO 15x -c215 @$1.5 to form a straddle -> that's $12.85 of premium in the position, so a bit of wiggle room, otherwise I'll roll the whole lot and see if I can't chop-off a few contracts

Escape-clause for -c215's is Jan 24 -c300's as I have 15x -c233's I can hide them behind

I wonder if the huge amount of -p200's that will have assigned over the weekend were being sold-off this morning, augmented by the usual suspects...?

A bit of green now would be nice...

Playing in a rigged casino against us?
Yes!

But Technical Analysis is there to help us count cards. Sometimes you might have an edge, until someone start dropping the stock on open market and you realize you have been drunk while trying to count cards.
Umph! As someone who can actually count cards; equally as well sober or drunk, you wannabe card counters might want to find another way to help yourselves. Maybe an inside man?

Some people invest, some trade, everyone’s trying to eke out a living in the way they know best.

Most important is to maintain civil discourse here and remember that no one is forcing or paying anyone to post here, we are all learning from each other and veering into attacks and criticism is counterproductive, in fact we lost valuable members in the past due to thoughtless or insensitive comments and this thread of poorer for it.

Let’s keep things pleasant and welcoming.

❤️
Funny, I’ve been told many times that criticism is valid when I’ve not actively criticized. Now, when I’m questioning why everyone here isn’t winning hand over fist with their TA and options plays, and when the vast majority of posts here have been wrong about what the SP was going to be - criticism bad.

Okay, no problem. I leave you all to your devices. 🖖

I personally love that @Krugerrand is visiting us. Keeps me on my toes!

Mountain construction must be going well and now he has enough time to spend with us Plebs.

I honestly wanted to see if anyone here was clairvoyant - not really, but you know what I mean. I’d not ever visited this thread before as I don’t do options and am likely to never. I read a bunch of pages in hindsight to see who got it right as then obviously that should be someone I should learn from.

Conclusion: nobody got it right. A couple of people got it partially right from time to time. That’s not good enough, imo.

From the recent responses I’ve now garnered, I’ll take the hint and depart.

Good luck to all. Honestly cheering for good people to beat the crooks at their own game and hoping nobody else dies in the process. It’s only ones and zeros.

That was some serious manipulation today, how can 172M shares trade and they cap it, keep it basically flat the whole day?

In all instances I’ve tracked in the past, a fresh daily high on RSI reading never marked the near term top in TSLA. The stock would always pull back, flag and make another high. Thats what we have been seeing since last Thursday. So Im still sticking to my call for another spike before really correcting. Should happen as SPY gets to 424.

TSLA got to 80 on daily RSI last Thursday.

But as you can see, it has fallen out of the old uptrend channel, a phenomenon frequently observed during a topping processs.

I did half the number of CC for Friday in case tomorrow is bad. 232.5 strike for 0.3
I think close to 20% OTM should be safe for TSLA at this point unless Moody decides to do an upgrade....
Tomorrow is the last day Warren Buffet could file their quarterly 13F. Probably a lot less likely than a Moody upgrade. But that possibility is out there. Not sure if this would be known before market close.

Did HOLDER's get it right? Everyone could have easily double their position instead we wasted 2+ years watching the stock go down to November 2020 prices. As mostly a HOLDER I did nothing but watch my account value get cut by 70%. Next time I hear inflation or that high interest rates are coming I will be dumping all my stock or if Elon starts selling. I think it is is impossible to know in the near term but following the trend might be an avenue I’d like to explore in the future.

Anyone selling when TSLA started its downtrend might have been seen as clairvoyant like CGS. He might not have timed to bottom perfectly but he got it 50% right
