So how do I record videos for my AP2 Model X? Does it matter which port I plug the flash drive into?

It doesn't matter which port you plug it into, because as of today, there is no dash cam/sentry mode for AP2 cars.

My X has sentry mode. That’s why I’m asking.

As @teethdood mentions, AP2 cars do not support USB recording for Sentry Mode or Dashcam recording.

Key part of setting up an AP2 car for Sentry Mode: debadging the 90D cars. With badge removed, would-be thieves will have no way to tell whether it is actually recording or not. It will be an excellent deterrent, especially with all the news about Sentry Mode footage catching thieves and vandals.

I think you're vastly overestimating the knowledge of model feature differences between Teslas of the average thief. If Teslas in general get a reputation for being poor targets, it benefits all of us. Similar to how phones became less attractive to steal from people when the lockdown features were enabled for multiple passcode entry failures, effectively bricking the phones or reporting their locations.
